What is your order for the reception?

I think receptions flow better when the couple makes their entrance and goes right into their first dance. Toasts, dinner, cake cutting and dancing follow.

First dance (we asked the bandleader to invite everyone after about 30 seconds which flowed perfectly into opening the floor for dancing)

I personally think it is a little strange to have the bride and groom go straight into the first dance and parent dances before dinner because I think it breaks things up too much. In my opinion, once the dancing begins it shouldn't stop.

We will do our first dance, eat, cut the cake, dance, and go home!

I didn’t really want to do the cake cutting before dinner but there was some miscommunication and I decided I didn’t care.
