We've been sending them emails, making phone calls, and people are either avoiding us or not giving us a straight answer! (My relatives especially are like "oh we don't know, maybe something will change at the last minute" .... no there is NO LAST MINUTE!) I get it if you didn't remember to RSVP but you'd think that after having us hassle them through various means of communication they'd at least tell us SOMETHING!! Grrrr!!!! Anyone dealt with this? Did you have people show up who hadn't RSVPd and who didn't respond to follow up calls/emails?

Wow after reading all of the posts I'm really nervous about when we get to that point.

@Jennifer & Kevin. No reason to get nervous, the way I look at it, it just cuts your cost. =)

Yes, it's gonna happen. Don't get pissed off, this happens to every bride and groom, so just laugh it off! Smiley smile

Just remember to rule your guest list with an iron fist. Be firm, tell people when they miss the deadline that you need to know by such and such date or you will mark them as a "no." After THAT date passes remind them that it's not just a stupid date, there's a reason for knowing numbers. And if they don't know that they can make it, tell them "It looks like you already made up your mind... I'll mark you as a 'no' OK?"

@breathlibra thanks. I have a long way from it, but just don't want any extra stuff to worry about.

@Brian Noah I agree with you on that. I'm not going to let my guest list run me into the ground. If people don't respond by the date than we are more than happy to show them the pictures afterward.

Thanks for the advice. It's always nice to get a different viewpoint.

Yes people showed up that didnt rsvp and then they complained they didnt have an assigned seat and when we told them where avaliable seats were they even complained where tose seats were. Also people who rsvp yes didnt show up it was more of that then anything. We still had a lot of people though and people I didnt even invite or knew showed up wedding crashers.
