What If There Is No Wedding Band?

My fiance bought me the most gorgeous engagement ring ever. It has a very unique shape. Turns out because of this, my wedding band will have to be custom made (I would like one that fits with my ring so I can wear both on the same finger). When I hear custom, I hear money! So seeing as I may want to...

My fiance bought me the most gorgeous engagement ring ever. It has a very unique shape. Turns out because of this, my wedding band will have to be custom made (I would like one that fits with my ring so I can wear both on the same finger). When I hear custom, I hear money! So seeing as I may want to use the money for my wedding band towards other aspects of the wedding and just get a wedding band later, what would we do during the ceremony if I don't have a wedding band for him to place on my finger? Suggestions?

    It is very important to FH and me that our rings are blessed during the ceremony. He even wants our "spare" rings that we will wear to work to be blessed. If that is not important to you, I would just use your e-ring rather than buy another band that you have no intention of wearing.

    My e-ring also has a unique shape. I did not want a custom band that would "wrap" around it. Plus it's vintage, and I didn't want to try and mimic that style with something new. So, I wear my e-ring on my right hand and my wedding band on my left.

    One of my friends has a beautiful pear halo e-ring but they couldn't afford the custom band to fit with it when they got married. She has a pretty band that they used and she wears it on her right hand most days.
