What helps coronavirus stress?

ALYSSA, on April 16, 2020 at 11:02 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 7

My husband and I got married 9.28.2019 and it was beautiful Now it's my best friend's turn, her wedding date was May 24th, however due to Coronavirus they have postponed until November! She seems to be doing ok, but I'm on the east coast and she is on the west, so I feel like I'm not able to be there for her.

I want to send her a care package, maybe some self-care things like a bridal robe, face mask, slippers, wine and a candle? However, if anyone else is in a similar situation and has ideas on what else I can put in that may be helpful at this stressful time, I would be so grateful.

That is such a cute idea. i've made care packages for my friends before during hard times like break ups and i like to include their favorite snack, maybe something to do like a sudoku or puzzle book.

I didn't even think to include an activity book and her fave gummy bears- Thanks so much!

    Hi Alyssa,

What a thoughtful idea for your bestie! Here are a few more ideas for your consideration:

    - Adult coloring books - this is very therapeutic for many; some have inspirational messages Smiley smile

    - Reading materials - books by her favorite authors or magazines...whatever she likes

    - Foot masks - they feel luxurious!

    - Nail polish/ manicure kit - our nails aren't getting the attention they deserve right now

    - Chocolate - there is no wrong time to send chocolate IMO

Do you have a weekly video call scheduled with your BFF? The best thing for her right now might be seeing your face and hearing your voice. Smiley heart

How very thoughtful of you! You sound like a very understanding and compassionate friend. I would say just the gesture of sending her a care package is more than enough! While still important, it's less important what's in the box Smiley smile Your listed items and other commenters' suggestions sound wonderful! I especially like the coloring book / reading materials / puzzle / something to focus her mind on! She'll be talking about her care package for weeks!

I get a bridal subscription box (the ring boxes, but there are others) every month. Not sure what you’re wanting to spend but something like that may help her get through the extended wait time

First off, you're an awesome friend. This is really thoughtful. I'd include a heartfelt note telling her that you love her and that you're there for her no matter what. I also think bath salts or bath bombs, nail polish and nail file, easy reading (magazines or beach reads) could be fun! Maybe something she and her fiance would enjoy together like a puzzle? I'm a fan of coloring books, sudoku, and crosswords.
