What flowers for groomswoman?

MMaru, on June 26, 2015 at 3:59 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hello, all! I know a lot of you have mentioned having women on the groom's side. What flowers did you/are you planning to have for them? I have four bridesmaids on my side and am getting them bouquets, and my FSIL is on FH's side. I was debating between getting her a bouquet to match my bridesmaids or a wrist corsage. Any tips?

I would probably just get her a bouquet. Personally, I think corsages are a little dated.

I agree with @fwr; a bouquet would be fine.

Thanks for the feedback! I thought a bouquet might make her look a little confused with my bridesmaids, but she is wearing a black dress to fit in more with the tuxes while my party are wearing purple, so I was on the fence. Boutinniere was my other option, but that just seemed weird for a groomswoman.

I would definitely go with a bouquet. I equate it to having a guy stand on the bride side...you wouldn't have him wear a corsage or carry a bouquet right? So why make the girl wear a boutonniere or something different. We aren't having any girls stand with FH, but I am having my brother stand up as a Man of Honor on my side and I'm just having him dress the same as the groomsmen. He will be standing on my side is the only difference.

I would go with the bouquet if it was me, but have you asked her what she likes? I'd narrow it down then let her decide between two choices if it was me.

I'll definitely check in with her and see what she prefers. I am having an Etsy seller make our flower sets and was making a list of what all we'll need and realized then just how unprepared I am, having no idea what to do in this situation, or for the mothers and fathers, if my brother, who is playing music for the ceremony, should have a boutonniere, etc. Just yet another wedding planning aspect that has WAY more decisions that need made than I expected!

I think a bouquet as well. Maybe have it match the guys' boutonnieres to distinguish her from the bridesmaids?

We are also having a groomswoman (well, best woman) in black with BMs in purple. I plan on giving the best woman the same bouquet as the BMs.

How about asking what she wants?

Bouquet. A wrist corsage says high school prom to me. She'll be standing with the groomsmen, so I don't see how she would get confused (and if she does, it doesn't matter). If you want, maybe you can do different flowers or a slightly different color.
