What does everyone think is fair to spend on a Dj/mc for your reception?

I paid $695 for 6 hours in Northern California.

I was expecting to pay about $1500 for my DJ. I found a DJ who had all amazing reviews, and that my wedding venue ended up knowing from weddings he has DJ'd at there and also praised how amazing he is. I met him and he is going above and beyond to make sure everything is just how I want it. He gave me a price of 825 for 4 hours. I want him for the ceremony too so he gave me 5 hours for 900. So I guess I really lucked out with the price I'm paying for my DJ.

Yes!! ideally the DJ will MC also to keep the flow going!! Im chatting with a few now, waiting on a quote from one who is actually the brother of my potential photographer who has worked at the venue before! and if i book them both i think they may give me an extra discount!
