What do you call little boys who are not ring bearers?

HeavenlyBride, on June 17, 2015 at 5:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hi!

Need some advice on wording for the wedding website. I have two young boys in my wedding. I'm calling them both ring bearers, but technically only one person can carry the ring right? So what can I call the other little boy? He is really only there to escort the second flower girl down the aisle.

I think calling them both Ring Bearers is appropriate. He is probably too young to be called a Junior Groomsman.

Aren't there usually 2 wedding rings? So technically, they both could be ring bearers.

The other one is too young to trust with rings. I did some research so it looks like my options are junior usher or ring bearer, or escort.

If they each have a ring, they can both be ring bearers. Otherwise, they could be called pages.

You can call him an attendant, since he'll be escorting the flower girl. Our godson is the ringbearer (he's 5), but my little brother is 9 and I am going to have him walk my step mother down the aisle. I am calling him an attendant.

I had 4 ring bearers. None of them carried a ring.

I wouldn't want to call 4 boys ring bearers, but to each his own.

I just feel like people call them ring bearers because that is what they have always been called. I want to give them a title that befits their function.
