What Do Y'all Think About Maggie Sottero as a Designer?

I actually fell in love with a couple of her dresses and I was sure I was going to end up getting one of her dresses but after trying them on I was so disappointed. They didn't look as good as the pictures. I feel like none of her dresses fit me correctly. IMO they fit the body weird. And the material seemed a bit cheap. I ended falling in love with a Justin Alexander gown.

For my first wedding I had a Sottero Midgley dress and it was beautiful! It came in plenty of time and I got so many compliments on it. I was actually looking at Maggie Sottero dresses for my second wedding but ended up going with a different designer.

My sister's wedding dress was by Maggie Sottero a few years ago- it was beautiful! It was very flattering and very well made- looked more expensive than it was. Looking back at her pictures, the gown looks timeless, not too trendy to where it would be outdated in just a few years. If you love one of her dresses once you try it on, I'd say go for it!

I'm in love with a few and hope to try some on when I go dress shopping!

As far as quality, my Maggie dress was beautiful and very well made. And the price was very reasonable. I ordered the dress in February of 2016 and it arrived in June of that year. I don't know what you are looking for in regards to "horror stories," but I had a good experience.

I'm a Maggie bride. I'm wearing her Greer dress. It cost about $1700 regular price. It's well made, it's a beautiful dress. They told me 6-8 months and it took closer to 10.

I fell head over heels for a Sottero Midgley gown (that's the couture Maggie line). I'll be honest, as a bridal consultant I find that Maggie is a hit or miss. I usually pull the same staples from them because I find that they are tried and true. They have so many different styles that they appeal to lots of different brides. Some of their dresses are totally worth the money, and there are some that I find aren't made very well. Did you have a particular silhouette in mind and maybe I can give you some suggestions?

I'd also add that if you like Maggie, Essense of Australia gowns are priced very well for the quality and many offer great structure.

@Melissa I LOVE Justin dresses. They are PHENOMENAL quality and are made with incredible structure. So many incredible options to choose from.

Allure is an awesome designer. Three of My favs were Allure, Essence of Australia and Maggie

I have one. It sits weird on my body right now because I haven't had it altered. I believe it's Raveena, or something along those lines. I'm very pleased with it. I bought mine off the rack so it wasn't too extreme in price.

I'm in love with my Maggie dress. My dress is the Serencia. I will say it was a little tricky finding someone to do alterations due to the intricate beading and extensive work it's taking to create a bustle BUT that's just due to the dress I chose.
