So.. my fiances sister came to me with a question that I could'nt answer.. when you and the wedding party are taking pictures.. what do they guests do? Eat appetizers? Drink? Are there any games that are played at weddings that can keep them busy and entertained. I went to a wedding last year and had to sit for an hour at the table not knowing a single person. It was uncomfortable and awkward and I dont want that to happen. What do you ladies think your going to do. I'm kinda leaning towards some kind of game that can get everyone involved. Any suggestions?

I have never thought about this before so i am glad that you brought it up. I think the game is a good idea. The game is there if they want to play it, if not they can mingle..i like it...thanks!

My reception and ceremony are in the same place. The reception doors open at 1:45 and it starts at 2:00. I have it set up while we are taking pics that they can go into the ballroom and find their seat (go out for a smoke) get drinks and there is a cheese table and then I made it where the salads are served at 2:20 so that away the guests are literally only waiting 20 mins before they sit and then we make our entrance at 2:30 and then thats when dinner and toasts will be done. Its going to move kind of quick at first. I don't want them bored or standing around waiting for something to happen. Some people have a cocktail hour?? It all depends if there is driving time/cock tail hour or what ever have ya. It will work out they will keep themselves entertained with drinks and company.

Typically people are connecting, or asking where the Booze is. Sad, but true. If your looking to have some kind of entertainment, consider a caricature Artist. I can certainly refer one if your in the LA Area who is World Renowned and VERY Good. He charges $350 for two hours, plenty of time to get pics done, and he's silent too, so the DJ can still play soft music and even play a video montage if your doing that...

We're getting married at a courthouse built in 1904 and having the reception 50 steps away at the community hall. It's all part of the Albert County museum so our guests will be able to wander through the various 9 buildings onsite while we are taking photos. Detailed maps will be provided to help our guest tour the museum.

I suggest having your MC do some ice breakers with your guests prior to your entrance. That way your guests will be more familiar with one another and be able to mingle more.

I don't have much time in between maybe 20-30 minutes so I'm having guests sign a polaroid guest book and write their addresses on envelopes for the Thank you cards. I may add some more small activities not quite sure yet.
