What colours go well with navy?

Silver, gray, gold, coral, green, yellow, burgundy

Well, navy blue is one of those colors that works with a lot of other colors. Some pairings will look great to you, and others will look terrible to you. It's a matter of opinion. In any event, white, yellow, peach, lime green, red, purple, orange, pink, emerald green, gold, and silver have all been paired with navy blue. Some pairings are crisp and clean, some are softer, and others are vibrant and contrasting. Adding a third color is more complicated, so if you already have navy and another color, it's best to steer your mom in that direction if she wants to be coordinated. Otherwise, you can incorporate mom's dress color into your navy theme.

Almost anything would go with blue, except maybe not red unless you want a patriotic look.

I agree that almost everything goes with navy. The only colors I'd avoid are bright red (as @Julia mentions), black, and another shade of dark blue that's too close.

Jewel tones! A deep purple, gray, really anything looks nice with navy so just have her find something she loves

My wedding is navy blush ivory and brown! Navy and coral is also really pretty!

Olive, gold or coral would definitely complement (anything with some yellow undertone).

Hot pink! We were going to do navy and hot pink but decided to go with royal blue and hot pink. I think coral or teal would go really well

Really you could pair basically any color you would wear with a pair of jeans. I agree that it acts as a neutral tone, it would be hard to clash.

Navy is a neutral, literally anything but black goes well with Navy!
