What color is this dress?

It is not glaringly blue in the photo but you can tell it has blue undertones. I think it is gorgeous in that color.

Meant to add: Is it your friends/family you think would be upset about a blue dress or your church? The only reason I would care about the color is if it prevented me from getting married in the church/venue or by the clergy/officiant I wanted. I am not catholic so I don't know how far their rules go. I know some people are so traditional they think cream is too much color for a wedding dress (not that I agree with them).

I think it looks very pretty. It reminds me of Cinderella. I had a white dress so I would he bias on whether you should wear a white dress.

Beautiful! It definitely looks like a wedding dress and not prom-y.

You can see the blue tones, but I think how much they come through can depend on what others are wearing. If your bridesmaids are wearing blues, it might come through more than if they have on a warmer toned colour. Same with groom and groomsmen, if they are in black I doubt the blue will be super present, but if they are wearing blue or navy it might come through and read more blue.

I also think that having a white dress would be fine with your skin tone! Did you try on any stark white dresses? What did you think?

I’m not sure about the white dresses. They had a lot of ivory and nude colored dresses. The only sample they had of this one was the blue, so I’m a little nervous to order it in white in case it looks bad.

Why not crop a ton out of the photo, so there is just a square of the material and show him and ask of it ruins his vision of you in white?
If I were going to wear a more glam wedding dress, I would choose this one, I love it!

I had the same issue as you when I got married - the only colors in the salon were ivory and other off-white shades. I took the chance and ordered white. I was glad I did. Your skin tone would look fine with white.

I do think the blue is noticeable, personally, but I am very sensitive to color. Just from the thumbnail, I said, "oh, that's a lovely blue dress."

It doesn't look like a prom dress at all. It looks like a trendy wedding dress. Similar to how blush dresses had a moment, and now nude dresses are having a moment.

What are your colors? Does blue go with them? That would be my only concern.

I know what you mean, there’s something about the non-traditional aspect of it that I don’t like, but yet kind of do? If it were any darker I wouldn’t even be considering it. I have always dislikes wedding dresses with color but being forced to try this one on has got me thinking about it.

I do think it balances traditional (the style) with non-traditional (the color) very elegantly. I also think how blue it looks will change depending on the lighting - I think most salons are a little darker inside than other places, so I think in the real environment you will be in, the light will catch more of the white and the blue will be more subtle.

The dress is gorgeous. If you choose blue or white is just personal preference. To me the blue still definitely looks like a wedding dress. In the picture I think maybe it makes your arms look a little red. Maybe white would work better with your skin tone? Blue is definitely more unique. Were you able to try on the white?


Since you mentioned that it's a catholic wedding I would be less concerned with the dress color (I don't know if there are restrictions) but with the neckline. Most catholic churches as far as I know would not be okay with that much skin that this dress is showing. If I were you I would definitely check that with the church before buying the dress. As far as I've heard this could cause some issues. It would be a shame though since the dress is beautiful.

This might be the ice blue if youʻre down for it. (I think itʻs absolutely gorgeous!) and could be your "something blue" as well
