I wouldn't worry about this - most people take a quick sip, set it down and get back to the drink they ordered from the bar.

Yep champagne it is. We have even purchased flutes for everyone to keep. crystal ice buckets for people to have. What I like is a bit more pricey and like was suggested most will take a sip and just leave it.

Most people do not enjoy champagne. I wouldn't worry about what type it is for the toast.

Ive litterally fake sipped and put it back on the table every wedding that had it for toasts.

We're letting people toast with their drink they actually ordered.

My venue doesn't offer champagne toast unless you pay for it. Least expensive bottle is $32. Since we have 140 adults attending we decided to just let people toast with whatever they are drinking. We will have champagne if people decide they want a glass. We decided on Domaine Ste. Michelle.

I hate champagne so I'll be drinking an Italian Martini for ours.

Because most of my guests don't drink, we decided to have a few different flavors of sparkling ciders to toast with Smiley smile A cheaper and tastier alternative.

My favorite is Moët & Chandon Brut Rosé. It's the champagne we splurged on right after he proposed! But it's pricey. For regular sparkling wine, I like the Barefoot Rosé.

We'll be drinking and toasting with our favorite liquor instead of champagne. And we're giving everyone a choice of what to toast with. Neither of us like champagne so we aren't even bothering with it.

I will be toasting with a Muscat Cannelli from Sistercreek Vineyards (local winery between Boerne and Fredericksburg, TX). It is excellent! However, my guests can toast with whatever they happen to have in their hand at the time.

I am right there with you OliviaP, I don't do sparkling wine. I always thought it was important for everyone to toast with the same drink like you were all drinking from the same bottle. But I might just get us a couple bottles of Cristal or Veuve Clicquot and then do Barefoot for everyone else it is so inexpensive. thanks FutreMrsB

Catlady, I LOVE that stuff! Louis Bouillot is amazing. It's made so close to the champagne region, you can't even tell it's a cremant!

I guess it's a regional thing, that all the guests don't toast all together. Most weddings I've been to, it's just the BP and it's mostly for photos. The only reason I'm splurging is because that's all I want to drink on my wedding night!

I prefer Moscato D'asti to champagne. Risata is my favorite - very sweet and bubbly wine that is better than champagne, IMO

ETA: Martini & Rossi is most popular among tastings I have done in the past. I used to do samplings for a wine & spirit company locally.

Veuve Clicquot is my favorite champagne, but I definitely prefer prosecco to champagne.

I also wouldn't serve everyone champagne for toasts, but we might get some for those who enjoy it. Our faves are Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial, and Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec; not into the dry ones!

No champagne for us. FB hates it and it's not my favorit, either, so we will just have people toast with whatever their beverage is. Athena M., what is an Italian martini?

Most of our venues use either frexinet (which is just fine by me) or Verdi (which, I'm sorry, is undrinkable). I just had some Blu prosecco, and it was surprisingly good!
