What can i have someone do at the wedding?

Usher. Prayer. A reading. Can they sing?

What is the reason they must have a job? If someone isn't an attendant, being a guest is a huge honor. The officiant does everything related to the ceremony (readings, etc) and groomsmen often do double duty as ushers

I agree with having them do a reading. My grandmother read a poem she wrote of us at our wedding. She read it during the ceremony while we were standing at the altar.

Agreed! And still, give her a corsage of flowers or a special bracelet to feel a part of the ceremony.

Make them a greeter for your ceremony and/ or reception. Have them help hand out programs or sign the guest book if you have them. I’ve done this for a few of my cousins weddings and it made me feel important and involved

They could be an usher. They could pass out programs (with gloves of course bc of COVID); they could do a reading.

Make a 2 min speech and toast before dinner? There are usually a few, sometimes family, or parents, friends, or WP.
