What are you having your Flower Girl hold/toss, etc.

Kaegurl, on January 2, 2014 at 6:08 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 22

Are you having your flower girl scatter rose petals or something else? Is she having a basket or a sign or just a flower bouquet?

Anyone doing anything different.

I've seen signs and I'm considering a wooden basket that says "Here comes the bride".

Other ideas!? I want to see yours!

I'm considering having my flower girl blow bubbles down the aisle. I live bubbles and think it would be really cute

My niece is our flower girl and will be carrying a yellow and blue pomander/kissing ball

I didn't want to have to clean up petals - and she thinks it's cool that she gets her own special flowers

@Ashley and Meredith - Oh, love the kissing ball idea. I don't think I've ever seen that. At least not at any of the weddings I've been too. I like it!

We're using a kissing ball too for the flower girl. It's white and silver flowers to match mine.

I'm having a Flower Man. My best friend's (MOH) husband will be the Flower Man and he will be tossing petals. I haven't decided what he will carry them in. I want to come up with something really good.

My flower girls will be carrying giant pin wheels. I think they will work well on the beach.

Petals aren't allowed to be thrown on the floor at my venue. A sign willl be held by my 2 "flower girls". "Last Chance to Run Uncle Blake!"....a second will be followed that says "Don't bother, she'll find you" held by the ring bearer.

I have 3 (possibly, but doubtfully, 4) 2 year old girls in the FG positions and I'm having them wave flower girl wands (in different colors than pictured) down the aisle. The wands match the rest of my flowers and are much cheaper than the kissing balls that I'd love to have but don't want to dish out the money for

My FG will have a cute ivory basket filled with herbs and flower petals but she won't be dropping anything, just carrying them.

    @Mel W.-Too cute!

Thanks Future Mrs Owens. I wish I could trust them to not throw it if I gave them a full basket like yours. Im wishing the best for the sign too lol.

I really like the kissing ball idea Smiley smile My venue allows petals to be thrown but it just seems like a bit of a mess to clean up so am looking at alternatives

Our girls will be tossing petals, my florist is giving them to us for free, and I'm making pouches that match our colors for them to carry them in.

Either a small bouquet or a single flower. No petals allowed so definitely not a basket.

I like the idea of my flower girl holding a giant heart-shaped balloon. Smiley smile If I end up having two, then possibly a garland that they both hold and carry down the aisle. I've also considered a giant paper flower, a lantern, parasol, or...some other ideas Smiley smile

The ribbon wand is such a great idea! My fh wants feathers since our colors are peacock colors and I'm paranoid about getting petals caught under my dress and staining it but I dk.

I really like the wand ideas too. I might just go with bouquet to keep it simple and scrap the basket I was thinking of getting. Thanks ladies the ideas!

She will be throwing petals with a basket. Lol the florist provides the petals for free, and a kissing ball/pomander would have been between $35-55. Spent $12 on the basket, so it was the cheapest option!
