What are you doing with your bridesmaids the day before the wedding?

RLHoffman, on August 24, 2009 at 1:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

We are having our rehearsal at around 1:30/2:00PM at the venue and I was thinking of taking the girls to lunch before hand and letting them opt in or out to having thier nails professionaly done at a reasonably priced nail salon at the same time I'm having mine done either that morning or afternoon. The rehearsal dinner is at 6:30/7:30PM that same day and I didn't know if there was anything else that is traditionally done with the bridesmaids the day before the wedding? The venue is doing all the decorating and setting up for the wedding so we don't need to be involved in that, and aside from helping my parents set up for the rehearsal dinner at my FMIL house I don't know what else we should be doing if anything. Help?

Personally for me the only thing I am doing the day before is the rehearsal and the dinner.I am using the day before to destress and not worry about having to be anywhere or do anything. I am doing all of my beauty treatments the day before the rehearsal. I plan on taking a very long whirlpool bath and coming out to have my mom give me a full body massage like she would do when I would have a bad day as a little kid. I always loved getting out of the bath and seeing all of the pillows from the couch laid out on the floor in front of the fire, I knew I was going to be pampered Smiley smile

I am not doing anything with my girls before the rehearsal. I will be spending that time with my mother and sister getting our nails done and getting massages. The rehearsal dinner is at a restaurant so there is nothing to prepare for and all the wedding details are taken care of by the reception venue.

Sarah went out for some tea with my sisters and her bridesmaids.... she really enjoyed that..

Other than that, we had our rehearsal, and she went home and relaxed(freaked out over the details.)

So I would suggest hanging out with family or your bridesmaids the night/day before.

Our rehearsal is at 10am and we are having a BBQ right after. The girls and I may be getting massages after and then that evening we are having the bachelor/bachelorette parties. The wedding isn't until 4 the next day, so we'll be fine. :-)

My plan is to sleep in and enjoy a slow breakfast with whomever is staying at my place, get ready for the rehearsal LUNCH at 1pm, go to the rehearsal at 3:30pm, then MAYBE put together the bouquets at 5pm if they didn't get done on Saturday. Otherwise it'll just be a slow night of hanging out, finishing up any other little things I didn't get done in advance (hopefully NOTHING) and getting to bed EARLY while other folks go to church and/or into DC to see the National Christmas Tree. To tie into a similar post on bridesmaid expectations I am leaving it up to them to do what they want with or without me on Sunday.

Well it seems to vary from bride to bride so I guess I'm okay, I just didn't want to be missing out on some big tradition.

That morning we will be getting everything ready to head to the hotel that night. Then we will all head over to the hotel to check in, go to the rehearsal, go to the rehearsal dinner, and then I will be kicking everyone out of my room so I can relax with my FH. If I don't kill my bridesmaids that day I think it will be a miracle.

LOL Libragurl...too funny.. Well, my daughter is one of my bm, and she has school that day...then a football game that night 3 hrs away. My MOH, I don't guess we'll be doing much together...me and fh are probably going to be getting the yard and house ready for the After Party. So unless she is coming to my house and helping us move tables and set up chairs and lighting, I guess she'll be home, or out shopping. I only wished I could have a day to destress before the wedding day...that would be great! But, I'll have 2 papers due that week for school, and all the planning. Because half the wedding party will be at the football game on Friday, we're having the rehearsal on Thursday.

I'm not planning to do anything with my BMs the night before. Our rehearsal and dinner are two days before our wedding (we are getting married on a Sunday). I'm getting my nails done the day of the rehearsal but my BMs aren't obligated to go with me. I will give them their gifts at the rehearsal dinner. The day before the wedding I am having dinner with some of my friends who are OOT guests and then I'm going to relax in a hotel room.

We are going to set everything up for ceremony and reception (getting married on our property) and then we are getting our manis and pedis. I am treating them to those. After that's done, we are having the rehearsal at 6:30 pm with a cookout afterward. My BM and I are staying at a hotel that night in a jacuzzi suite that my FH got for us, so we are just going to chill and enjoy the night. Might hit up the hotel bar for a quick drink or something. My sister is my MOH and she will probably go back to my mother's house after the rehearsal/cookout. She's 17 and shy, so I know she won't stay with us at the hotel! Wish she would, but I am okay with it being my my BM and me because then I don't have to worry about making sure my sister gets ready the next day (she can be a bratty 17!). My mother has taken on that job...THANK GOD!

We have a FB game too on Saturday, the day of the wedding! I feel bad he's going to miss a game for our wedding but that might be pushing things too far.
