What are some good "cheap" wine brands?

Thinking of buying white and red wine aside from beer and liquor for our wedding. I'm just not a huge wine drinker, so I'm not sure which brands to look for.

My friend's mom did a blind wine tasting for their wedding to pick the wines. Red ended up being the Apothic Red Blend ($9 per bottle), which was picked over Caymus Conundrum (about $25 per bottle and is my favorite wine). I don't remember what they ended up doing for white.
