Does he get a tip? A Thank You Card? What do you think?

I believe I said that the invite serves more of a purpose than inviting me to a wedding which I will clearly be showing up for.

Treating human beings as human beings, not vendors or guests, goes a long way in the relationship that you'll be in for some months. And if you feel like you're paying an 'obscene' amount of money, maybe you made the wrong choice.

Well, I love my officiant. He's the sweetest and I want him to officiate, but I also want him as a guest. He's doing pre-marital counseling with us, and his wife keeps offering to help with decorating or with anything.

ETA: He's kinda like our wedding grandfather, I guess you could say. I want to make sure he's taken care of.
