What about after the wedding??

We all spend sooooo much time planning every detail of our wedding day/night... then it’s over in the blink of an eye! I am curious what everyone has planned for the day(s) AFTER the wedding! Will you be leaving right away for a honeymoon? Taking a few days off to relax? Maybe planning something...

Will you be leaving right away for a honeymoon? Taking a few days off to relax? Maybe planning something special or romantic for just the two of you? Share what you plan to do (or did) after the big event is over!

We plan to host brunch from our favorite local restaurant the morning after for all of our guest. FH took a week leave but we have five pets so we probably won’t get to go anywhere overnight. Maybe a day trip to some hot springs or pretending to be tourist in our local mountain/ski resort town.

Now that we've postponed to next October, I'm not sure what we will be doing. Our original wedding day/time was scheduled to end at 3:30 PM on a Saturday, we were going to go back to our hotel room and relax then, go out with some friends to a few bars or something. I also wanted to do was host a small brunch the morning after the wedding and leave for our honeymoon shortly after, like that night.

We are getting married in Gatlinburg (about 4 hours from where we live) so we are staying in a hotel Friday - Sunday nights, wedding is Saturday. And then moving to an AirBnB Monday - Saturday for our honeymoon. With three kids we don’t get much time alone so we are taking advantage of it!
We booked a large AirBnB Friday-Monday for our moms and the kids and the dog. We are having a pancake brunch Sunday morning for anyone that wants to stick around and we will spend Sunday exploring Gatlinburg with our kids before they go back home with our moms on Monday.

There have never been gifts brought to any wedding I’ve been to. Everyone sends them early or just brings a card day of (and honestly that’s been rare). Opening gifts sounds super fun! We don’t expect gifts for our wedding. It’s a super small guest list.

Immediately after our wedding we get to go to the honeymoon suite included with our venue. It has a hot tub in the room and we get a full brunch with an omelette bar included for the next day. Then we are spending a couple days with out of town family then we go back to normal until our honeymoon later. (We're waiting because the weather and crowd predictions are better for May since we are going to Disneyworld.)

We *slept IN* so hard the next day, and had some alone time. (We got home, got out of our finery, I washed off the makeup, and then we completely zonked out.)

...And found out that our parents were off having brunch for THREE HOURS without us! (Hey, they get along. Gift horse, mouth. Not looking.)

My parents were going home the Monday after the wedding, so we spent the evening with them, we took Monday off, and then went back to work. We took the honeymoon 5 months later.

We'll Be Staying In A Hotel For A Few Days To have Time For Us Since There Will Be No Honeymoon Anytime Soon.

The day after my parents are hosting a brunch for all our out of town guests, then we'll take the remainder of the day off. I'm taking Monday off work to return rentals and then we will both be back to work Tuesday. We don't have any plans for a honeymoon, partially because of covid, but also because we are working on doctorate right now and with that program we should get to travel next may (fingers crossed)

We planned, and went on, a minimoon after our wedding. It was nice to have that time to relax together after the wedding. We also planned our full honeymoon for Ireland for late May 2020, but Covid had other plans Smiley xd .

Now, after almost 11 months of marriage, we have bought a new home and are planning to expand our family. Wedding planning was so fun and exciting for me, but it definitely keeps getting better!

We eloped so we slept in, checked out of our Airbnb, and honestly were so wiped out that we just relaxed after we got home!

We'll do a honeymoon at some point in the future. Just wasn't appealing to us to travel immediately after spending the $ on the wedding, and the obvious risk with COVID.
