We're having 2 cakes & cupcakes - how many servings do we need?

Caitlyn, on September 25, 2020 at 5:08 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

We're planning on having 2 cakes at our wedding (a his/her cake because I really want a marzipan cake and he wants an ice cream cake) and then cupcakes. Our guest count will be around 170. Any recommendations on how many servings per cake/cupcakes we should get? I was thinking a marzipan cake that can serve around 40 (because it will be less popular), ice cream cake that can serve around 90, and then around 75 cupcakes. Would this be really off base?

I would ask your baker...let them know what your plans are.

I agree with Michelle - I'd definitely ask your baker for advice! I'd also make sure that your servings add up to more than 170, just to cover your bases in case one dessert in more popular than others!

And I'd see if you can get a marzipan cake that feeds a few more people! (Closer to 80-100??) Just so that you have enough for everyone who wants to try!
