Weird vibe at 30 days out... with 5 people.

Laura, on September 1, 2020 at 2:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I'm feeling like beyond our formal outfits - that I really don't need to do anything else. Like decoration and such, but that feels weird too. Has anyone else just... given up in a way. The day is finally close but I am just exhausted. Suggestions, thoughts? Is this normal for Covid? I'm tired.

This is normal for me. My wedding isn't until another 9 months and I'm already exhausted.

We're 40-days out and while we're not doing a lot of decorations (well actually none except for what the resort provides on their own) - I'm just enjoying this last month and getting the little things ready, starting our packing lists, to-do when we get to our destination lists, etc.

I'm on my 6th wedding date. I'm so tired. I feel you. It gets better if you can avoid Covid, I think...

Congratulations! I'm relying on my venue too - I really should figure out cake or ice cream for us and the kids. Maybe we'll do a make your own sundae kind of thing. I need to figure out a unity candle. My flower estimate and order should be placed anytime now - like before Friday. My dress is almost done. I need a bra - they think that is the better idea than altering the front of the gown - I think the front will need altered anyway. lol! Dress done on the 12th - wedding on the 28th. Hmmmm.....

Not sure where you live... but pick your favorite grocer for the cake Smiley smile You can't go wrong there.

I just ordered a new bra and hoping it does the trick with my dress as well - also going to try dress and boob tape. That maybe the answer i'm looking for.

Which dress did you ultimately end up deciding on? Sorry if I missed the post.

The mermaid! Of course now I'm worried every wrinkle and imperfection will make me look like a piece of sausage in too small of a casing. I'm having really rough dreams about how 'bad' I will look on the day. I swear my dress doesn't look like this good mid-alterations. I want to throw up some days. Ugh.... I love the idea of a grocer for a cake - there's literally 5 of us - so the big cake makes no sense.

I think surrendering is just perfectly normal... you’ve probably got enough plates spinning that everything will happen and fall into place as it should. It’s time to take a breather girl...you got this! 💪

I think it's also ok to keep it minimal and simple

Don't know where you are, but Publix and Whole Foods have awesome smaller cakes that are reasonably priced (less than $30). I'm actually getting a couple of Chantilly cakes from Publix for about $50 for my 15-person wedding in January. You can't beat it! I've heard that Sam's and Costco have good cakes as well. (And, by the way, your dress is GORGEOUS!). Good luck!

You look beautiful and definitely NOT like a stuffed sausage! (when I tried that style I said I looked like ‘Charlie Tuna” coming out of a starkist can. LOL).
The dress accentuates you’re figure beautifully.
Tape your breasts, you’ll get that “perky” uplift without needing the alterations

You guys, I’m dying over the stuffed sausage and Charlie tuna visuals! You look beautiful in the dress and not at all like a stuffed sausage. My dress isn’t fitting well. I panicked and bought another dress. There’s 7 of us. I have no plan for after the ceremony. The wedding venue pretty much handles everything, but at this point I’ll agree to whatever they suggest. I’m too, am exhausted, and was just thinking how ready I am for it to be over when I read your post. Smiley heart

PS Publix does has awesome cake. Not that I’m eating any carbs because I bought a damn mermaid dress too!

HA! I love the Charlie Tuna visual - and the sausage fears are real. I think I'm just going to wear a longer fuller veil and try to hide any sausage meets Charlie Tuna visuals. At least the back of my dress is plain - so no details will be missed. And my dress already needed let out - I'm totally avoiding whatever I can to help my poor dress. Then I'm eating freaking cake! lol!

Long veils are super flattering. You’ve got this! On 10/3 at about 5:30pm, I’ll be eating all the cake too!
