What can I do to shred a coulple more pounds before the wedding? I’m not where I want to be at all and I’m very disappointed in myself.

Have you tried Keto!? The first week is sort of awful, but after those first 7 days, it feels like a fog has been lifted and you have so much more energy and a clear mind! I did keto a while back and then fell off of it during the holidays! Now I'm back on it and on day 6 and already lost 2.5+ pounds! I know alot of people have alot of success with it, you just have to stick out that first week!! And to get into ketosis faster, I am also intermittent fasting! I've never really been a breakfast person, so skipping breakfast and not eating until 11:30-noonish and stopping eating around 7:30 has been easy for me. I've been intermittent fasting for around 2 months but didnt lose as much weight as I wanted to so that is why I went back on keto!

I just googled this. That seems like something I can do pretty much no carbs. I haven't done any actual dieting, I did cut out all drinks except water and stick to just a cup of coffee every morning and no breads at all. I downloaded an app that gives me different 15-20 min. workouts everyday. So far I've lost 15lbs. It's been slow but at least I'm not gaining LOL.

Yeah I always drink water anyways so cutting out drinks wasn’t hard for me. It’s just eating less carbs

Don’t do any of these fad diets. Eat lean, healthy protein, complex carbs and lots of fruits and veggies. Limit snacks, keep them healthy, drink plenty of water. I imagine you probably know what to do, you just need to do it. Don’t look for quick fixes, they never work in the long run.

Dont beat yourself up about it either. You can’t change the past, just focus on today.

Eat lean protein (chicken & fish), lots of vegetables, healthy carbs (sweet potatoes & quinoa). Stay away from high sugar fruits & cut down on dairy. Try to cut out as much processed foods as possible.

Drink lots of water and make your own food. Eating out is not only pricey, but isn’t great for your health either...especially if you are a Dunkin or Starbucks person.

Finally try to add in some exercise. Whether it’s walking everyday or a quick workout. I swear by the Beachbody workouts and you can do a 2 week trial before you purchase them.

It’s weird I’m not losing weight honestly. And nothing is clinically wrong with me because I’ve gotten everything checked before. But I drink water, workout 3-4 times a week, don’t eat any dairy, have a green shake every morning and I’m still not losing weight!! How?!?

Sometimes our bodies are just where they want to be. Try not to focus on the number and focus on living who you are—that’s who your FS loves. I do understand how you feel...I’d love to have skinnier arms by my wedding in a month, but it’s not going to happen even if I start working out with a trainer every day. All you can do is keep eating healthy. You can try Whole 30. I did something similar and I not only dropped 10+ lbs in 21 days, but I also felt really good.

You could try intermittent fasting - the workout series Faster Way to Fat Loss revolves around that.

    All of this.

Keto is a huge fad right now and is not the answer. Fun fact: The ketogenic diet was designed for children with intractable epilepsy as a way to control their seizures.

The best way to approach any desire to lose weight is to control your portions, eliminate unnecessary sugars (sodas, candy, snacks), eat a balanced diet, and increase your calorie burn. Look at things like my fitness pal or lose it for calorie counting. It will help to know what you should be doing. Oh - and realize that you don't truly know what a proper portion is unless you are measuring it! I learned that a long time ago. :-)

Keto is when you consume less than 20 carbs a day, around 100 grams of fat and around 90 grams of protein (the fat and protein amounts all depend on weight, gender, and BMI, so I just used this one https://www.perfectketo.com/keto-macro-calculator/ to figure out my macros!) just google or pinterest it! Thats what I did! To put it in basic sense you just cut out all gluten (bread, crackers, tortillas, PASTA, which is the hardest for me) and all SUGAR, including most fruits, because carbs are basically just sugar. So then your body starts burning fat, instead of carbs, for energy. There are a TON of benefits of keto along with weight loss, like your blood pressure and glucose levels even out, you have a ton more energy, you are fuller longer, you have a clear mind, etc! Keto isnt just for weight loss!

I eat alot of eggs, bacon, all kinds of meat, but alot of tuna and chicken, pickles, super dark chocolate, mayo, cream cheese, sandwich meats, coconut oil, coffee, sweetners (which there are some great, quite cheap ones at aldis!) all natural peanut butter (ones that just peanuts and salt), sugar free jello, avacados, I even make a Keto friendly chocolate milk shake today and it was delicious! I'll be making this even when I'm off keto! its really not all that hard, unless you eat out a lot or drink pop quite often. Otherwise it has been a pretty easy transition for me. I don't really crave carbs or candy any more, and when you do, there are these things called keto fat bombs (scary, I know) but they come in all sorts of flavors and what not so you'll find atleast one to make to curb your sugar or chocolate cravings!

Just google it, there are a ton of blogs about Keto, but here is just a brief overview! I am no expert on Keto, this is just what I've all read and gathered from people on or who have done keto! I did around 12 hours of research on keto before deciding to try it! as always do your own research and decide if you think you can accomplish it and if its the best option for you! Hope this helps!

Sometimes our bodies get used to what we're doing and resist. I've done the Scarsdale diet before when I wanted to lose weight quickly and lost 14lbs in 14 days. It was around 800-1200 calories a day plus working out 4 days a week.

BEST advice everrr!! Listen to that! I've struggled with weight my whole life. I've been down to a size 10 and up to a size 18. I fluctuate like crazy! Doesn't help that depression does make me binge eat. But recently I took a turn. I looked in the mirror and realized how unhappy I was with myself. I joined the gym with my FH. We go @ 5am before work Mon-Fri. I do at least 20 min of walking/jogging, (gotta keep your heart rate up) then I lift weights for about 40 min - I usually attend a class on Saturdays and then go for a walk, Sunday's I take off. Working out in the morning sets me up for my whole day! I can't imagine not going into work without going to the gym first now. I don't feel tired what so ever and I NEVER NAP anymore! I won't lie, I do drink a pre workout drink that does contain B12 which gives me a boost of energy Smiley smile It helps! Eating.... that's another one, I honestly and truly believe you are what you eat. My anxiety and how I feel about myself completely changes when I'm eating clean. Carbs, sweets and salty snacks (which I love) are the devil. I literally feel how my anxiety changes if I decide to cheat. Basically what I'm saying is, I've never had the motiviation, EVER. For the first time in my life I TOOK control, I made a decision, and I feel great. Yes its uncomfortable going to the gym at first, but I promise you, most people are there to better themselves and if anything they will give you motivation as well. Good luck! Keep us posted!!
