I'm using Myfitnesspal app to track my food. Added strength training to daily walks. Then this week I started low carb but not Keto (diabetic, so it's necessary). Dropped 2.5 lbs last week!

Totally! I had to change my date from May 8 2020 to October 23 2020. My bridesmaids dresses are a light blue wondering how that color would look for October?

I’m doing like a dusty blue. The color doesn’t matter Smiley smile you chose that color because you liked it and that what matters. On the plus side of moving the date, you have majority things done and you have time to reach your goal weight Smiley smile

I'm a September Bride! I'm in the same boat - the dress zips, but I'm still about 20 lbs heavier than I used to be. My original plan was to get back to the gym & even re-upped my membership...covid19 determined that wasn't going to happen. I was lucky to be gifted a set of kettle bells and youtube has become my best friend. BodyFit by Amy is who I've started following. I also go on at least an hour long dog walk every day because, well, what else am I going to do with my time?

Some other advice my fiancé and I were given by his best man (he had an amazing transformation before his wedding) was: "Lean protein, good fats, and veggies. Eat more protein and less sugar. This includes things that can become sugar inside your body as well. Unfortunately, this includes: beer/liquor/ice cream/pretty much everything great. I'm NOT saying stop drinking, at all - but be more conscious of your intake.

For breakfast: eggs are best, whole wheat toast/hot cereals/steel cut oats. These are all complex carbs that your body will mark for use as opposed to storage when you hit the gym.

Lunch: make salads. Make them grandiose. Make them titanically gorgeous and amazingly filling. Kale/spinach/romaine lettuce as a base, and then top that sucker with cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, red onion, olive oil, sea salt, pepper, cheese (especially feta!) and at 1 - 2 (min) proteins: chicken & hard boiled egg are easy go to's. That's the healthiest lunch on earth and you can switch up the toppings every day to make sure you don't get bored. Get creative - go nuts!

Dinner: Veggies. All varieties of veggies - best when roasted in the oven or steamed. Potatoes are a good complex carb, and are tasty - but try to avoid russets. If you like sweet potatoes - eat the crap out of them. The time is now! As for protien, legumes are a fantastic option - you can also switch this protein with your salad one and do meat for dinner instead. The trick (and sorry about this) is don't eat meat twice in one day. And, don't do just beans in one day. Each one of these types of proteins have something your body wants - so give it both! Eat as much as makes you full and happy. All this combined with cardio and/or a weight lifting routine will do wonders.

Biggest thing: if you go out and have 6 beers or eat a burger with fries with those beers, or you order pizza because the shelter in place sucks: that is GOOD. DO THAT. Have fun and don't kill yourself - just be more conscious about what goes into your body and the energy you're putting out. Make adjustments based on what's making you happy."

I hope our Best Man's advice (mostly copy/pased from a text from him - sans swear words) helps you. My fiancé and I have been picking up the bagged salad mixes at Costco and are enjoying the hell out of them. We are also grilling more of our veggies and proteins now that it's in the 50's to change up the texture & flavor.

    Good luck to you!

Low carbs and no soda! Soda is the devil - I cut that out of my diet almost a year ago and lost 40 pounds. So carb counting is fairly simple. Just check your carbs and try to make sure you don't have more than a certain number per meal. Potatoes are also the devil. No potatoes and no white bread and no baked goods in general. It sucks at first, but the weight melts off if you stick with it.

The weather has been really good. Right now, mornings you’ll need a light sweater certain days and the afternoons and evenings are perfect! We are on shelter in place until April 30th as of now. Which part of California are you going to?

I've cut sugar intake down dramatically, drink lots of water and workout consistently. Since the gym has shutdown I ordered Hip Hop Abs.

I Started Counting My Calories In October, Have Lost 43 Pounds. I Didn't Cut Any Type Of Food Out , I Eat What I Want When I Can Fit It Into My Calorie Budget. I Did Cut Out All Drinks Aside From Water Because They Are Empty, unnecessary Calories. I Was Also Going To The Gym But Now Thats Not Happening Lol. Weightloss Is 80% Diet Though So Its Fine.

I Started Out Using NOOM And Then Transitioned Off Of It. Its All Mental, If You Want It Bad Enough You Can Do It. Good Luck Smiley heart

My wedding is also in October 2020!

I am doing kickboxing classes. My kickboxing gym is doing full length at home workouts due to being closed during the COVID 19 pandemic for members that don't involve using a punching bag.

A great option is to YouTube home workout videos! There are a ton of workouts that use only your body weight so you don't need any equipment.

I also meal prep to avoid the temptation of getting takeout meals. I don't have any "off limits" foods, but rather eat the unhealthy foods in moderation. Drinking lots of water and avoiding sugary drinks as much as possible helps a lot too.

This is a very good question; because I've been running back and forth to the kitchen since we've been a stay at home status. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

If you're eating from boredom, maybe look at other things you can do (go for a walk if you can, try a workout video, find a hobby, read a book, play online game, e.t.c. ) Good luck!
