Yes, I used to use SlimQuick, and Hydroxycut (before that person died on it). I wouldn't suggest it. It makes you feel really fast, your heart is racy. And my biggest concern is what I'm going through now. now that I'm not on the pills I"m not loosing weight as rapidly. I think it slows down your metabolism ad a long term effect.

I am doing the HCG diet. I have lost 4 lbs in the last week. They have it in liquid drops and injection form. I feel that the injections are better, simply b/c I have more energy than when I used the drops and I can be a low carb diet instead of just a 500 cal. diet that is required with the drops. You might want to just look into it. You can lose up to 1 lb. a day and it does work. It is just very strict.

I asked my doctor about using weight loss supplements since I am diabetic and have high blood pressure and she said that it is safe to use Alli.

Ive tried Alli and Oxy elite pro. Alli is well, to say the least disgusting. HCG I don't know about injecting myself, a little extreme for me and I probably wouldn't be able to poke myself with a needle.

I actually did Medifast for about a month. I'm a normal size 6 and don't lose weight very fast or hardly at all. I dropped 15 pounds down to a size 2/4. The best part is I feel so much more energy and healthier.

Wow that medifast is kinda expensive! I wish I could afford something like that right now.

I have used the Slim Quick powder stuff that you put into a water bottle in the past. I could only do one a day, and had to do it in the morning. I did two in a day, and it made me a bit jittery. I did have increased energy, and it helps me... well, poop for frequently. I did lose some water weight.

I actually liked it. They had a peach mango tea thing that I really like how it tastes. I plan to start them again.

    Just use them with caution.

I used visalus for about a month, I lost 26lbs. it was amazing but I couldn't afford to keep buying it. I've used hydroxycut, it was horrible. I ended up passing and and not being able to pull myself out of it. I couldn't breathe when I finally opened my eyes, and I was screaming and had no idea. It scared fh and I to death. I've also tried oxy elite pro, I love how energized I feel but that was too expensive too. If you have the funds, and you check with a doctor it should be ok. I guess it just depends on what you are looking into.

Don't do any of them. IF there was a true weight loss pill, the US would be filled with skinny people.

I think certain "helpers" are okay, but in the long run you really just need to choose a healthier lifestyle forever to keep the weight off - unless you really want to take the supplement forever, which sounds expensive.

I agree with Kathy R. If you eat right and exercise you will be able to lose the weight you want. For some it is harder than it is for others. Will power is key to the weight loss game.

How much weight are you trying to lose? You still have a couple months to go so I would try for the tired and tested (but slower) way of consistent exercise and eating healthier options (you can lose around 2-3 lbs a week). With the guidance of a dietitian, I have recently lost 50 lbs and have been maintaining it for around 6 months now. It was mostly small changes over time that added up in the end (no skin on chicken; cut off fatty parts of beef and pork; restrict full fat dairy products e.g. cheese; decrease drinks with sugar whether natural or added including fruit juices etc). I find the diabetic/ nutritional supplements (e.g. Ensure; Glucerna) are a good source of relatively balanced nutrition with controlled calorie intake so it helps you keep to your daily calorie counts down and for the powder ones that aren't ready made, mix them with low fat or soy milk for additional nutritional benefit. It may be hard so get someone to help keep you motivated. Good luck.

Whatever you decide, seek medical advice first..the best way is changing diet/lifestyle permanently (I know easier said than done!) but if you rely on a pill and don't change too much you are likely to gain it back when you stop taking the pill/supplement.

    @Zahra, congrats! that's great advice :-)

I've done two. I did Seattle Suttons healthy eating until I couldn't afford it anymore, but I lost 35lbs. in three months. My fiance sells Herbalife which is what I use now and I've lost an additional ten lbs in 6 weeks.

With weight loss pills and supplements the weight eventually comes back. I've managed to lose 52lbs in about a year (could have lost more but some months I slacked) by just watching what I ate and working out for 1 1/2 hours a day about 5 days a week. I didn't have a treadmill or gym membership. I just used the workout stuff I had at home. I tried all kinds of pills and diets and the ONLY thing that worked was eating right and exercising.

    - (2) 1lbs weights, (2) 3lbs weights (2) 5lbs weights, (1) 8lbs weight, (1) 3lbs medicine ball, aerobics stepper, toning bands, and myself.

I did things like jumping jacks, sit ups, some pilate moves, some taebo moves, mixed in with other stuff. Within the first 2-3 months I dropped over 25lbs. I ate 4-6 times a day, three meals and then healthy snacks and I drank tons of water. I kept the weight off for over 6 months. The only reason I've gained any back is b/c I am currently 6 months pregnant. Photo on left is me @195lbs, the right is me @162

There was just a big story on ABC about alli and liver damage.

Excercise is key, and you CAN fit it in at home; there is a great site dalled something like 'www.squeezeitin.com with excercises you can do at home or work...

I bought a 'fitbit'; it's a little device that tracks your calories, activity level and steps. It's really motivating to check in on the computer and see how you're doing each day.
