WedPics: Anyone Using/Used?

~*World Of Whimsical*~, on July 5, 2013 at 9:47 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 19

I'm just curious if anyone is planning on using this app for their wedding day in lieu of one-time-use cameras on their tables. If you have used it, was it a sound app? I really want to use this so that I can have as many pics as possible from the day, and as plugged in to technology as everyone is nowadays, I figure this might be a money saver too. I'm planning on putting a small card in my invitation packets and also a reminder on my programs.

I would like to use this or Wedding Party, but I haven't decided which. I posted a week or so ago and didn't find anyone that had experience with either.

I am using WedPics. Wedding has not happened yet but I have been very impressed with what WedPics has to offer. I was having an issue with the app on my phone and they fixed the app in a matter of minutes after I contacted them through their online chat support.

Looks awesome, Courtney! Thank you. My FSIL has hijacked my idea (not a bad thing though) and is telling all her guests to download the app, so I guess I will use her as my guinea pig.

I attended two weddings where the bride asked guests to download wedding pic apps. It was a great idea, but was hard to do at the event due to lack of service, and then everyone trying to upload at the same time and your pic never showed up. WeddingParty worked a little better, but was still frustrating.

You might want to think about just using instagram and creating a unique hashtag for your event, and then guests can use that. Most people already have instagram, and it is well known app with very little bugs or problems. And if you want to spread the word about your hashtag, start using it NOW! and include a sign/framed picture saying something like "If you instagram, use #ourwedding" (just an example)

I attended over 5 weddings who used WedPics including my own. Since I have downloaded it before, it was easy to use it again. I have attended 2 weddings that used the Instagram hashtag and they had 2 big issues happen:The first was that the quality of the images really sucked, and the second was that the hashtag that they thought was unique enough was later shared by another wedding, which is a poor decision on their part. WedPics really works as long as you share the Wedding ID and app with your guests ahead of time as recommended. It's incredible how far this app has come in so little time, I recommend it 100%.

I went to a wedding and not everyone saw the sign with all the tecnhology hashtags ect, so it ended up being the same two girls that posted everything from the night. Doesn't hurt to try it and see what you get from it.

I used WedPics at my wedding three weeks ago. A friend who got married in September used it and loved it, so she told me about it. I was very skeptical - I didn't think people would really use it. Boy, was I surprised. I put cards at every reception table explaining that people could download the app or just take photos and upload to the website. A ton of people uploaded not only pics but videos, and I have some really great photos on there that the photographer never would have captured. My best friend is now using it for her wedding, as well. It is super easy to set up, super easy to share (by email, text or Facebook), super easy for guests to use, super easy to upload photos with, and then you can download the photos or share them to Facebook or even get prints through WedPics. The groom went on and on about it - I think one of his favorite things about the whole day was watching to see which photos people uploaded. Highly recommend.

Thanks for the reviews!!! I'm planning a September 2016 wedding. My question is can you print & save images/video to a pc or disk? Can you print at home or must prints be purchased through the app?

An even easier option is picshareparty.com

No app install is needed. You simply gather photos & video from guests into an online gallery by text message. All guests need to know is how to text and the specified event gallery's phone number.

Putting cards with the phone number on reception tables is also a great idea to gather up lots of pictures. Check it out!

Wedpics worked great for our wedding since on our honeymoon we were anxious to see pictures. My advise is print more wedpics cards for the table we had a printer print them out and also the scavenger hunt page. We put 2 cards (I suggest making them bigger and putting more around the room) or so per table and know that most people didn't see the cards. After the wedding people are still uploading photos 6 months later. You might have to pester the not so techie guests and help them upload photos.

I was so glad I did a little research to find this Wed Pics app. Our guests loved it and we got some gorgeous pictures and videos completely free! It’s worth it to buy the cards with your password on them. I had them at my bridal shower and left one at each plate for our wedding reception. The app functioned very well...no issues. Highly recommended!!!

Yes, how much do prints cost through WedPics? Do you have to pay to download pics or only if you print them through their site?

I was at my friends wedding last weekend and they used a service called TacBoard. I don't know all the details but it was super easy to use. Her wedding had its own phone number and we just texted photos to it. I know I've been asked to use WedPics before at weddings but I never bothered to download the app. Because this was just texting I actually used it and it seemed like most people were too. I am pretty sure I will use it for my wedding next year too.

Don't use WedPics it is not free, your guests are required to pay for you to download the photos they post on here by buying the 'Diamond Package', there is nothing diamond about it, if you are on the app for what they consider too long, as I was whilst showing the photos to some elderly relatives, they will log you off the app, you then are not able to log back in unless you change your log in details and email address. If your friends and relatives like a particular photo and wish to download and print it, it will cost.

I would suggest that you set up an email account or a social media account that your friends and family can share their photos with you, you can then choose which photos you want to include in an album that you can then share with people you wish to have them ?

Oh and another point, it would appear that your friends etc can only access the app for a month following the wedding
