Wednesday wedding?

So my FH and I want to get married on his parent's anniversary, which is also his grandparent's anniversary. We want to keep the tradition going, the only thing is that the date, May 29th, falls on a Wednesday next year. Any advice on weekday weddings? Anyone else having one?

In that case, a simple ceremony with dinner at a really nice restaurant afterwards would be totally doable for mid-week. Even working people have to eat! 😉

I'll be honest. I was in a wedding last year on a Thursday, and I was an out of town bridesmaid. It was pretty difficult, because I had to be there Wednesday for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. So my fiance and I ended up missing work on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Which is kind of a big chunk of vacation days, or money if you're paid hourly. She didn't have a huge wedding, around 75 people, but I think around 70% came. People did leave earlier than normal, and no one really drank since a lot of people had work the next day. It did cost more money for our rental car too, we were thankful to stay with my parents but it was inconvenient. The bride was happy so I never voiced my concerns and never would. It just depends on the vibe you're wanting. If you want a party atmosphere, it won't happen on a Wednesday. And if most guests are out of town, a Wednesday would be super hard.

My FH and I are both recovering addicts. So that's why there will be no alcohol. Would hate to relapse on my wedding day 😁

What about going to the courthouse and getting married on Wednesday and then have a simple ceremony/reception on that following Saturday? That way you can still have the wedding date you want and don't have to worry about a weekday wedding.

My FH and I are getting married on a Weds in Aug with just our immediate family. We will have a very intimate dinner and reception and we will be having a large “I Do BBQ” for all of our friends and family that following Saturday. It’s your day and that is all that matters!!!

Hey there I'm getting married on a Wednesday! I've always loved Wednesdays and always wanted a Wednesday wedding. My guest list is only around 100 and I haven't sent out invites yet but many of my friends have said they'd be there. I don't except many of the out of towers to come, but I that's not because it's a Wednesday. If you want the Wednesday I say do it, just decide quickly so they can know now and start planning accordingly. In the end you know your invitees best I wouldn't make it a Definite no just because it's a Wednesday. On the bright side Wednesdays are often cheaper, and you probably won't be competing with any other couples for them.
