Wedge Flip Flops for Reception Anyone?

Christy, on April 17, 2018 at 3:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I'm down to 24 days and as a million small details flood my mind, I remember one thing I haven't bought. My sandals/flip flops for the reception. I have bought 4" heels for the ceremony and knew upon buying them I would need something else for the reception. Keeping in mind I have a mermaid style dress and it was hemmed with my heels in mind, I have to wear sandals or flip flops with a wedge or heel. Has anyone else done the same? If so, wear have you gone to buy your flip flops or sandals?

You're gonna be standing for a long time. Wear something you're gonna be comfortable in all night. Keep in mind too that you dress is altered to fit your ceremony shoe, so whatever shoe you wear to your reception should be a similar height.

I been thinking of that as well, Kohls has some pretty wedge sandals by Candies that are white and has silver rhinestones on the straps I have been eyeing.

I'm the same way and knew I wouldn't be able to wear my heels all day. I have seen some people say they've bought them off of Amazon, but I don't know the exact pair. I just bought a pair of the Tom's wedding wedges that match the height of my heels.

My seamstress gave me a panicked look when I told her I would have to take my heels off at some point lol she said the dress would drag too much if I just went flat footed.

I’ll be doing the same. I’ll be buying a wedge sandals instead of a flip flop. This is only because I want the wedge to be more secure to my feet’s.

I bought mine from Oka B. They're beautiful and sparkly but they have arch support and are super comfortable.

I haven't decided if I will do a second pair. I can usually wear heels for about 9 hours, so I just don't know if I want a second pair.

I'm wearing silver sandles for the ceremony and reception. No one will see them under my dress and I had my dress made specifically to my height without heels. I want to be comfortable. Definitely wear something you'll be comfortable in or you'll end up barefoot before the evening's over!

I have these 2 inch block heel by crocs that I'm planning to wear for the reception so my goal is to get a ceremony heel that's 3 inches or less. I think you may be able to get away with these flip flops: link here . There are a fair number of platform flip flops on amazon to choose from. A sandal with a strap or an espadrille might be more stable and easy to wear again after the wedding.

Yes! And I had the best ones! They were so comfy and were the same height as my heels, so I didn't have any hem/bustle issues. These are them:

This pair was the most simple one they had, but they had fancier (and more expensive) ones, too.

ETA these are 3.5". If your heels are 4", you may want to consider having it hemmed to the heels, but bustled to the wedges. I brought both these and my real heels to my fittings.

I made mine. I wanted wedge flip flops but couldn't find any at the time.

I bough a really beautiful and comfy pair of wedge flip flops that I am planning to wear my whole wedding! They were from Amazon and are amazing! They are so comfy. I don't even realize I'm wearing a type of heel (which is good cause I normally don't have a really hard time wearing them).
