WeddingWire Website RSVP Function

Keren, on August 27, 2017 at 2:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 30

Hello ladies! Question for you... has anyone used their wedding wire website for the RSVP function? Is it worth it/actually convenient or is it better to just keep track of them manually? I know I had a friend who used The Knots RSVP function online and it turned out to be pretty confusing... it asked EVERYONE if they were bringing a guest even if their invitation didn't indicated that they could. So, a whole bunch of people RSVP'd with unanticipated plus ones! Any insight would be appreciated. I'll definitely use it if it makes sense (and realistically it'll probably be cheaper too) but have no problem just doing it manually either. Thank you!!

We used TheKnot and we didn't have any problems/confusion. We just input the names of those invited and no one could add anyone. I guess there's an enabling/disabling button, for that process. We've been married more than 4 years and only one couple didn't respond, to our online/website RSVPs.

I used the Wedding Wire RSVP and they can't add anyone but whom you have listed on your guest list. It worked well for me except for the ones who didn't RSVP and I had to call them but that would have been regardless

We have people the option to RSVP with the card (addressed and stamped) or on our website. Most have done via the card so far.

You add in their names yourself and they have to select from the names you provide

For my BP that are not in a relationship, I put their Plus One as "Guest" under the name instead of an actual name.

Nobody can RSVP for extra people since it's not an option.

I used it. It's not particularly confusing to me, but a few of my guests were confused. I only received about 50% of my rsvps and had to follow up with everyone else. If I had to do it over, I would have used traditional response cards

I use Riley and Grey, and their RSVP has "my invitation indicated I could bring..." and then the drop down says "myself", "a date", or "my family" (and you can customize what it says for those options). I'm hoping it'll work well this way since it makes people look at their invite again

Also depends on your crowd. Most of mine are literate. Anyone who isn't will be able to call me or ask someone for help

We're using it as sort of a precursor to the formal rsvp cards, directing guests to it on our STDs, as we're having a DW and are trying to mentally plan the final budget.

We used WeddingWire RSVP and had minimal issues. There was like one or two people who said "it wasn't working" but somehow they still RSVPd. Or people would just tell me in person and I would do it for them. A lot of people didn't RSVP back at all so I had to make lots of calls/texts. But I'm sure that would've happened either way and this way I didn't waste the postage lol.

I looked into both, and it seems that The Knot was easier (at least for me) as far as adding guests/plus ones/etc. I think TK seemed to have a few more features that made it easier on my end, not sure if the guest experience will be any different whatsoever.

We're using the wedding wire rsvp option and it's working well so far.

People cannot add extra guests, and there is a space for them to leave a message. Most people have left an excited or supportive comment, but it's also nice because one guest was able to let me know of a typo in the name of his girlfriend. Easy fix! You get an email notification when someone submits, so you don't have to compulsively check the website to track updates.

This works for us because our mail service is terrible (lost, undelivered, returned, etc) and there are fewer than five guests who don't use a computer or smartphone on a regular basis. We've already spoken with those guests person and did the rsvp for them.

I'm planning on using the WW RSVP feature.

Like @DC said, I tried it myself and it seemed pretty user friendly.

I highly recommend using WW RSVP function! Like folks already mentioned, you can set it up where no one can add a plus one. You create your guest list and I had mine set up where you had to enter both your first and last name to RSVP and you couldn't add a guest. The guest could leave a note for spelling errors. I didn't mail out RSVP cards because i needed the count for my DW quickly. All my wedding guests are relatively young and technology-savvy so it worked. And my post office is shady. I had several invitations come back months later although the address was in the same city I live in. You will have to remind people to RSVP just as you have to with cards.

I'm loving the WW response. We have only sent out STD's (to just the out of towners at the moment) but two people RSVPed already online, which I think is adorable! :-) Both left a sweet message for us to read <3
