WeddingWire Phone Number?

Brenda, on May 30, 2013 at 11:24 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 22

I did all of my vendor reviews about 4 weeks ago and my DJ disputed my review for him. I was wondering if WW has a contact number so I can speak to someone about this. This is so frustrating because WW asked for a contract to verify that he was my DJ. I explained to them that he was contracted through my venue and sent them a sting of emails with details regarding his role in my wedding, the music sheets with his letterhead, my photographers blog with all my vendors listed, and the contract with my vendor. I still have not heard back from WW and would be very upset that vendors can give terrible service and find loopholes to get reviews removed.

Sigh... this is only part of WW I hate. It is kinda odd how SO MANY vendors have near perfect comments, reviews and scores. I don't know the full deal, but as a vendor, if you pay WW X amount of money, they can dispute and possibly remove negative reviews.

    Guys, thoughts?

Also - I recommend going on Yelp, Google and other online reviews.

Doesn't really make me want to rely on reviews of vendors on WW if apparently on the "good ones" are showing but none of the negative ones.

It's because of this very thing that makes me take WW reviews with a grain of salt and I usually seek out multiple reviews on different sites.

I'm doing some searching for you but maybe one of the other ladies can help.

Quick Google search brought this up. Apparently it's been asked before: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-advice/does-wedding-wire-have-phone-number-for-an-issue/f191e84e55d3bfeb.html

Try emailing Leeor at leeor@weddingwire.com, she might be able to look into it further for you. But it sounds like you have the necessary info to get it back up, they say sometimes the process takes a while.

If a vendor screwed up, they would not ask you to post a review here. If a vendor is sure a couple will leave a good review, they ask for one. That explains the number of good reviews. But, if you look, you'll find a few bad ones.

A vendor can contest a review but only for a few legitimate reasons (if it is a competitor trying to smear his name; if the vendor did not work with the reviewer -- I had a GOOD review from a bride I had not worked with, in fact she referred to her officiant as Michael, so I asked that it be removed; etc.).

Yes, some vendors pay to be on here, but many do not pay. The dispute rules are the same regardless.

It is probably better if you continue to e-mail WW (so you have a paper trail), but their phone number is: 301-231-9473.

Thank you Nancy! My vendor did not ask for a review, I wanted to let other brides know about my experience with all of the vendors I worked with. There's no way my DJ could think I was another vendor trying to tarnish his name becuase my name was on the review, it had only been a week since my wedding, and I said the same thing on the review that I said to him towards the end of my wedding.

Hi Brenda! I understand how frustrating this situation can be.

Just to shed some light on this issue everyone-- ALL reviews on WeddingWire, whether positive, neutral, or negative are verified. In order to protect the integrity of our reviews and ratings, our system utilizes various methods of cross checking reviews to ensure that they are valid.

We at WW try to cater to both vendors and newlyweds as equally as possible. As we know that our review system is a very important feature for both vendors and newlyweds, our support team works very thoroughly to ensure that our platform remains as honest and open as possible. Our review system is the bread and butter of our site! We know that engaged couples won't rely on reviews they find on WeddingWire if they believe them to be bogus!!

We can dispute them, but if they are valid reviews from contracted couples, we cannot remove them. I actually appreciate my less than 5*s because they make me look real, lol....

As far as Fstoppers? Ya can never go wrong bashing the wedding industry. It pretty much guarantees readership and traffic to your website.

    Oh. That sounds familiar.

    I understand that, Celia!

As a consumer I can tell you that when I'm reading reviews I typically discount all the max and minimum star reviews because I figure the truth lies somewhere in between. ;-)

For a NWR example...I'm an avid reader. I'd need another full time job to support my reading habit. That being said I'm constantly on the lookout for free or cheap Kindle books. When looking at reviews on books I normally sort it by 4 star ratings first and go from there.

A little off topic but it's also a little insight as to why some brides on here are skeptical of the endless parade of 5 star reviews on every single vendor. Nothing/no one is perfect 100% of the time. Just sayin'...

P.S. Everyone! @OutTheWindow all review disputes are treated equally regardless of whether a vendor is a paying vendor or not. Non-paying vendors can dispute reviews as well and the process is the same for every one.

    Jac Jac, I'm with you.

I know that sometimes it does take a bit of time to get things verified and back; I had a couple of reviews that weren't especially bad, but they were just not my clients. It took a couple of weeks, but they got gone....

Celia, they take down your review as soon as its disputed. They don't just look to see that your a legitimate couple, if that were the case my review would not have been taken down. I'm sure no vendor wants bad reviews, but that shouldn't be the reason reviews are taken down. I'm just glad that this issue will be resolved.
