Weddingwire Countdown - One Day Off Or Am i Crazy?

Chantal, on February 14, 2020 at 10:42 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

Anyone else noticed this?

While looking for vendors, I realized that my wedding date was a Friday, according to the Wedding Wire calendar. Immediately started panicking, thinking that my FH and I had screwed up big time somehow since we thought it was a Saturday. After checking eight different calendars, I reaized that I was actually right, and my wedding day WAS on a Saturday after all. I also suddenly noticed that the wedding wire countdown to my wedding has always been one day off.

Am I crazy? Is it just me? I feel like I'm missing something, or I made a weird setting on my computer somehow!

It adds the hours. 50 days and 18 hours is really 51 days.

    ^this exactly.

Kind of annoying but yes it’s always been a day off on the Day portion of the countdown. I wish there was a way to only count the days. The hours & minutes are kind of excessive lol

WeddingWire seemed to have our countdown wrong too, I had to think about the time zone difference between where each of us is and where our ceremony is before I figured it out. I'm in Ohio, fiance in Arizona and our nuptials are going to be in Hawaii. Five hour difference. Which is how far off WeddingWire is for us. 🤷🏾‍♀️ If it's a whole day, there may be something else the matter. I don't know, though.

The hour counting and counting until midnight, not ceremony time, also threw me off when I was viewing my countdown. I ended up ignoring the WW countdown completely, because it’s confusing, and using The Knots countdown instead.

Mine isnt accurate either. I think it counts down to midnight of your day, but I know Ive tried to make it count down to 3pm on my wedding day, and it always goes back.

Guess set up/ get ready/ morning-of counts despite the actual marriage not happening until later.

It's weird, because if you look at their calendar, their days don't match up with the right days of the week, either. Scary!

Glad I'm not the only one, though! Thank you everyone!

I noticed this awhile back, but I think it might be due to 2020 being a leap year. It may not be set up for that extra day, since it only happens every 4 years.

That makes sense. I forgot this was a leap year... when I found out, I was sad that there was one more day than usual between me and my wedding. Call me crazy Smiley winking

After going crazy and wondering he same exact questions as you, i decided to look at other online countdowns. It literally matched the one on wedding wire. My wedding is at 2pm. So around that time it changes days, So today would be 62 days but since 2pm passed, now its 61. I hope that makes sense.
