I thought about doing this, but decided not to because our venue was going to charge the same amount. But I've been to Friday weddings and I think they're a great way to spend a Friday night!

From the beginning of planning we were going to do either a Friday or Sunday wedding to cut costs. We're doing a Friday DW in Jamaica. I think as long as everyone is given ample time they will make plans to attend and if they don't they weren't supposed to be there.

I've been a guest to many Friday weddings, at all hours of the day/evening, and the turnout was pretty big at all of them.

It's pretty common for people to take the day off or just the afternoon prior to the wedding. Those who want to attend will do everything in their power to make it happen. I honestly wouldn't worry about attendance.

Our wedding is on a Friday however it will start early in the afternoon. So, if they want to come it won't be an after work event. Everyone that are supposed to be there...WILL BE THERE!

Summer time around 6 pm is easy for folks to attend and it makes for a great celebration/party to start the weekend off. I agree with someone else; don't make it so early in the day where people have to take the whole day off from work. But if you must, give family and friends enough timw to prepare to take off from work. Good luck!

My fiancé and I are also doing a Friday wedding. Just be sure to plan the start time so that people can leave work at a decent hour. (Ie. Ours is at 6:00pm!)

You can have your wedding on whatever day, at whatever time!!! If you give people 8 months notice with the save the date and enough time to RSVP that is plenty of time for them to request off from work.
I understand some jobs have different request formalities. But if you were inviting them to an out of town/state wedding they would have to take off regardless. So I’m sure a half day or early leave is well withing reason. So start your wedding at the time you want it to start. If they want to be there, they will find a way. Friday at 6 or 7 would be challenging for me to attend a wedding after trying to work a full day. I work downtown. Our rush hour starts at 4pm in Dallas. I would request a half day. But knowing me, I would want the whole day off 🤣 Boom, easy.

I think people will come if you make it late enough! The thing is most people work on Fridays but I’ve also seen a lot of guests just take a day off either the day before or after a wedding
