My brother has been dating this girl for 6 months, they just got engaged and are planning his destination wedding in November, 2 weeks after my second child’s due date. Him and his future wife are still in college and can’t wait any longer to start their lives together. He’s now trying to convince...
My brother has been dating this girl for 6 months, they just got engaged and are planning his destination wedding in November, 2 weeks after my second child’s due date. Him and his future wife are still in college and can’t wait any longer to start their lives together.


He’s now trying to convince me that it would be safe to travel with a potential 2 week old and postpartum because he really wants us there. Some reason it is now our fault for not being able to attend. Having one already I know that they recommend 3 months.
Of course myself and my family would love to be there for my brothers big day. Am I being unreasonable by hoping he will change his date?Should I be this upset about it?

    ...Has he ever been around someone postpartum and with a 2 week old?

    Because no one who has any experience with that would be like, Yeah, you can travel!

    Uh, no.

    He can either video conference you in, or change the date, because the only person asking a 2-week postpartum mother to travel better be the Queen of England offering to make you a Dame. (And, first pictures after birth aside, even the Duchesses weren't expected to do that.)

    ...Especially in a pandemic.

    You have every right to be upset, since it's ridiculous to ask you to travel with a newborn, but he has to decide if getting married ASAP is more important than having his sister and family there.
