You're welcome. We'll be writing our own vows as well. What also helps is after you write them, you can always practice them as well to see how long it takes you to read/recite them. It's from the heart so there's no REAL time limit but of course because of everything else that goes on in a wedding, you just want to make sure that it's not TOO long.

I heard five min each is good as well. I recommend recording yourself so 1. You know exactly how long it is and 2. You hear what your spouse will be hearing

Mine were 2-3 minutes long

3 minutes?? 5 minutes?? Oh man, I might be in trouble. I don't think the one I have so far would even hit a minute!

We are doing a word count so one is not super long and one super short. We went to a wedding where this happened and the groom poured his heart out but the brides was super short and it was super awkward for them. We are doing 250-300 words.

30 seconds to 2 minutes. Longer if you have inspiration but don't force it.

I'm struggling with mine and I've got less than 2 weeks.

FH is my MAIN topic of conversation, and yet I can't figure out how to write the vows! I've got at least 4 drafts started.

That said, I'm struggling because I have a lot to say, but I don't want to take hours, lol.

Oh dang, mine were only about a minute and a half when I timed them before the wedding. I think my husband's were slightly shorter? They felt just right during the ceremony, not too long or too short.

Mine are probably around 1-2 minutes.

Your vows can be as long as you like or as short!
