Wedding videographer film quality

Taylor, on February 20, 2021 at 12:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
Past and future brides. I’m trying to make a decision on a videographer, but wondering if it matters if the wedding film is shot and delivered in HD 1080p or 4K ultra HD? The videographer I really really like (style, music, etc.) films some parts of the day in 4K, but delivers the film in 1080p, but other videographers I’ve talked to film and deliver in 4K. Do you think it matters? Should I base my decision off of the quality? Any advice is appreciated.

I would go for the videographer that you like over a higher resolution. 1080 is still a really high quality and will look very crisp on your screens.

I think you should go with overall style over resolution. That's what I based my decision on. I didn't even really think about resolution at all.

Something such as 4K will only show up in that format on a 4K tv. Otherwise it won't appear any different from the rest.

It's personal preference. Based on online clips, I couldn't tell you what the specs are of each because most are not listed and don't mean much to someone who is not tech savvy in that way. But I can tell you that the super crisp videos are more more appealing and "professional" looking.

Go with the person who’s working like the best. 4K doesn’t matter. If you have an 8K TV and it’s only shot in 4K it’s not gonna matter anyway because you will only be able to view what your TV is. If your guests watch your video and they don’t have a 4K TV they won’t able to see it anyway. Both HD and 4K are pretty similar.
