Yes, my company is actually a limo company, but we are renting a shuttle instead. It's $80 an hour, plus a 20% tip. The catch is sometimes there is a minimum (my wedding day is prom day in our destination city, so we had to book 8 hours). But I did shop around and they all charged the same.

Our ceremony is an hour away....but we couldn't afford to do the limo/party bus thing. We opted for a school bus! It's super cost effective (whole trip is costing us less than $500), it will seat 72 people (not that we have that many...they said 72 would be a little squished), and you are allowed snacks, drinks and booze (the booze has to remain at least 2 rows back from the driver)!

Since we were making everyone go to the damn boonies for our ceremony at our favorite state park, we thought we'd at least offer them a ride. We are also going to book the hotel shuttle for a shorter trip ($100-150) for the rehearsal dinner.

So it depends, I think if you're making folks from out of town (who may or may not have a car) travel all over hill and yon, give them a ride. But required? Nah! =)

How did you get a school bus? That's our situation--we are having it 45-60 minutes away so I felt obligated to do it. Not everyone is using it, though, but I am encouraging it since I have room for 28 and only 20 on the transportation list.

We tried FMIL's church, but they don't have a bus Smiley sad

Nope! Though it's fun to ride in limos, it's not necessary, especially when you don't have the budget for it. We had to cut out the limo *le sigh* but since we have to rent a car anyway, we're going to try to find something relatively classy. (We're OOT, flying into our homestate for the wedding)

I'm amazed at how many of you won't be having a limo. We're not having one...my dad will be driving me and then after FH and I will be leaving in our own car.

My wedding venue is on the Mississippi River, I am half tempted to take our boat to the reception venue on the other side of the river and make it our get away. I was also tempted to make the rest of the wedding party ride on family pontoons. My only concern is wind or bad weather, but if that happens we are kind of screwed anyways because it's an outside wedding.

I am BLESSED! I found a limo service that will pick us up and drop us off at the venue, and pick us back up in 6 hours and take us to our hotel, in a stretch suv for $300!!!! It's so expensive bc compaines make you pay to for them to stay outside and wait for you.

Yea, I'd say drive yourselves if you can..I kinda got pressured into getting a limo, it was 400 which was a lot to us and would rather have used it toward other things..that was 3 hours, then we paid 75 for an extra hour just for logistical reasons; we got pics before the ceremony/first look.

We need transportation for last min run around the day before so we are renting a luxuary SUV. This car will take my husband son & My nephew who is giving me away to the church. I only have one bridesmaid we are calling a local black car and doing a by hour rental $50 per hour to take me from the Hotel to the church and my husband son and myself will take that car to take pic and my sister and nephew will drive the SUV after after pics the car service will take us to the reception and leave. We will go back to the hotel in the SUV all 5 of us !! and we still have trunk room for what ever we need to bring back.

I think we will have everyone drive... I don't think there is even five miles between our church and reception... I cannot justify the money
