Hi guys! I’m 268 days out from my wedding and curious about something. Who here made a cosmetic or lifestyle change of some kind that you were really glad you had done by the time the wedding arrived? Examples like teeth whitening/straightening, a fitness routine, eyelash or hair extensions, quit drinking alcohol a few months before the wedding etc?

That being said, I’m in full support of rocking whoever you already are at your wedding of course! Just curious if anyone was thrilled about some change they made for the wedding. 🙂❤️

Thanks so much! It’s been a lot of work! So far I like Noom. I’ve liked learning about the psych tricks and all that with the lessons, but I’m kind of a dork so I love that stuff. Haha! I think regardless of the program, tracking food, calories, or points can help if you can stick with it. I know for me it makes me more aware of what I’m eating and helps with portion control. I know my soon to be sister in law has a free app that she logs her food (with points similar to WW) so there are a ton of options out there. I got a promotional deal on Noom and WW was no longer keeping me interested so I decided to switch it up.

I know the Halo is good for your hair being down. I would check with your hair stylist once you decide what style you want, but clip ins may be better for half up half down. That’s what my sister did for her wedding. I think her stylist told her that was best for the style she wanted.

Same! I plan on eating healthier and exercising again. I gained some happy weight and pandemic weight and I don’t feel my best. About 25 pounds to lose 😬

This. I have never bitten my nails but I destroy my cuticles and skin. For a while I was doing gel manicures which made me leave my fingers alone, but a year of gel destroyed my actual nails so I’m back to the beginning. Stopped the manicures in January which I guess was good timing since I would have had to stop in March anyway snd my nails are still not 100%. Have you found anything to be helpful? Anti anxiety drugs help me, but I can’t take more!

Hi Samantha, I just believe that sometimes the way that the eye and the whole makeup look with lash extensions is not natural... I recommend the faux lashes to my clients; but that always depends in what you prefer for your big day 😊🤍 also, you will have to wear mascara on your lower eyelashes either way.

I have been eating healthier since 2015, just because. I struggle from being lazy when temperatures dropped below 70F. Then I just cook, eat, go back under the blanket. What else can I do during lockdown? All fitness equipments are so unreasonably priced now, it’s crazy! I only do yoga and a bit of weightlift for getting tonned upper arm and less love handle. In summer I am so hyper I can shed very quick. I am planning to get my teeth whitened 1-2 month prior to the wedding. I am over 40, so I thought about filler and botox, but I am sooo indecisive. I am so afraid I won’t like the result and there is no turning back. I never did such stuff so I am a bit paranoid of the side effects too 😅

I was my heaviest weight when I got engaged, so I instantly got back on WW to lose some weight and ended up losing 20lbs. While I had hoped to lose more, I lost some motivation throughout the quarantine and ended up just maintaining until the wedding. I made sure to use some Crest whitening strips ahead of the wedding to make sure my teeth were bright. As a toddler, I got a scar through my eyebrow and began trying to “fix” the evenness in my brows once I hit middle school. After 20yrs of over-plucking and trying to make my eyebrows even, I got them microbladed a few months before the wedding, and I’m so glad I did! My only regret was not getting a spray tan because my cleavage had clearly not seen the light of day in quite some time!

Your struggle is worse than mine. My FH is Romanian - born and grew up there until 10 years old. Their food does not have quite the reputation French food has but they’re European. When the holiday: food. Food everywhere. And when you’re a guest in their homes, they will not stop piling food on your plate. 😂

Honestly: hand cream. Hand cream. Hand cream. Also: cuticle massage cream. It really discourages me from picking at my cuticles and nails because they’re moisturized. The more I keep them moisturized, the less dry hanging cuticles I have, so the less I pick. Seriously, just start slathering hand cream on everyday and cuticle cream every other day or so. The difference it makes is incredible and it is so much better than manicures, which destroy your nails over time as you noticed.

Got engaged in July 2019, wedding is April 2021. Just before we got engaged, I started making the gym a part of my routine about 4x week. I bought a meal plan from a personal trainer this past September and lost about 10lbs in 6 weeks. I'm about to do it again, mainly to shed holiday weight. I'll probably get a spray tan before the wedding as well, because I burn too easily in the sun to get a natural tan anyways lol

I started Noom to drop a few pounds before the wedding. I'm still about 6 months away from my wedding but down 10lbs already and feeling more confident. Also went with smile direct club for teeth straightening and whitening. I had braces as a kid but lately my jaws haven't been fitting together well and I've been having misalignment pains. It's more functional than cosmetic but even looking at the difference in my smile from 2 months ago, I see improvement. I know it's conceited but someday, I want my kids to think "wow mom was really happy and gorgeous on her wedding day". I'm still me, I'm just trying to be the best me I can be.

I plan on eating healthier, starting a workout routine, and getting more organized. I struggled with anxiety and high functioning depression right before getting engaged and the past year was dedicated to finding myself again after having my second son. I'd love to improve my wardrobe, work on a better skin care routine, and whiten my teeth before my wedding.

I basically just ate foods that I could find on the “perimeter” aisles of the grocery store! Produce, meats, dairy were the mail staples. Anything that could be found in the interior aisles (chips, bread, cereal bars) I stayed away from for the most part. Helped me get to my goal weight and made me feel so much better! I love cooking so I ended up making a lot of things from scratch that I would otherwise buy (like ranch salad dressing) so I had a better handle of what I was in my food. The wedding definitely was a good “kick in the butt” to get started!

That is exactly why I live in Florida haha I am useless in cold weather! I know some fillers are reversible, if that helps. It's definitely a big step because generally yes there's no going back lol.
