Wedding Reschedule due to covid Sucks!

Samantha, on July 17, 2020 at 5:54 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
Our wedding has been officially rescheduled. It’s not our month, and it sucks a lot. We are still getting legally married 8/2/2020 with parents and siblings only since we are now not allowed to have gatherings more than 10 people.

I’ve ugly cried for at least 30 minutes and every fiber in me hates that this happened...
Don’t even know if it’s worth wearing my beautiful dress with just 10 of us in a house at this point...I’m just disappointed and sad. I’m so worried that things don’t appear to be getting better.

I'm so sorry, but you're right -- it just sucks.

Our date is 10/10 and we've already cut the guest list from 130 to 30-40, but I'm going to figure out a plan C in case it comes to only being able to have our parents/siblings.

No matter what happens though, I am wearing my dress when we get married! I am in love with it, and our photographer will still do pictures for us. If I can fit into it again at our reception celebration someday, I'll certainly wear it again, but that is one thing I am not having taken away from me this year.

We had to postpone our big wedding from 8/8/20 to 4/24/21, and I can totally relate to you! We are having 15 guests (all family) at our civil ceremony on our original date. Originally, I was bummed out at the prospect of having something different, but now I am embracing it! I found a simple white dress for less than $100 (plenty of options out there and if you search one site, you’ll get nonstop advertisements for others on your social media lol). Then I decided that our processional/recessional music would be fun and different because the Catholic Church won’t allow that in April. Embrace the uniqueness of your civil ceremony, and make it something that you will love Smiley smile

I’m with you on this whole thing with COVID sucks!
We eloped and already had to move it 2x, 05/02/20 to 10/03/20. With all the restrictions, it’s not going to allow us to have a fun wedding party and people are not likely to attend. So I’m waiting till the beginning of August to make change of plans. We are probably just going to have our parents and us.
I’m definitely going to wear my dress and take some good pictures at least. A lot of brides are going through this and it’s just too sad.

I'm so sorry Samantha - I know this has to be so hard! Smiley heart

I'm glad you still be able to have a small celebration on your original wedding date and start your married lives together. Also it's ok to be sad about the change in plans - so let yourself grieve for a little while if you need to!
