Hi guys, I want to rent a helicopter for my wedding reception. Where can I rent one? Anyone know how much it might cost? Any rules or regulation?

This OP has never come back to any of the threads she has started.

I highly doubt she will come back to explain this one either....

Sigh. one of my grooms arrived in one and everyone, from the bride to the DOC to most of the front row guests were just disgusted.

Spend more money on hors d'oeuvres.

Helicopters are loud and windy af, that's kind of tacky. There's a youtube video of a bride arriving to her reception on a chair with **** white balloons, at least that was quiet and didn't ruin anyone's hair.

I purchased a helipilot lesson for my hubs once. It was about $250 for a day of training with the pilot. Start by looking for pilots or flying lessons near you. The pilot is insured and responsible for the FAA clearing of your flight. Your venue would have to be involved with this as well because of landing space and regulations. However -- I would save this fun for a honeymoon excursion - not windblow your guests away!

This makes me feel a little better about even considering a boat entrance. Just saying.

@Malei, at least a boat entrance won't literally knock your guests over/wreck their hair & outfit lol

I don't really see a problem if you have that kind of money and aren't skimping on other areas. Definitely land far away from everyone though and use it to leave not arrive or you'll ruin your hair.

Probably best talking to your venue and to the companies to check regulations

I'd think you'd have better luck getting an answer to a question like that by picking up a phone book or, you know, googling it, rather than ask a bunch of strangers on a wedding forum. The only reason I come up with is rather unkind.

OP, this is your day, do it your way. Not understanding why some are so judgmental on here on how you want to spend your money.

Please check to make sure it is allowed in your area. Any restrictions. Also, please make sure you don't skimp on the reception itself. You don't want to have a grand entrance or departure and you've skimped on the food being offered at the reception. Good luck!

Why not just pay to do a helicopter tour on your honeymoon? Is it really necessary to have a helicopter for the wedding? To each their own though.

@Tanya People are giving her honest feedback. Why is giving her an idea of perspective a bad thing?

OP this may be something you want to skip. It may seem fun and cool but they are messy AF. The wind the helicopters generate for landing is going to destroy nearby flowers or fabric. The dust and dirt gets everywhere and if you are landing in a non grass-y area they can sometimes pick up small rocks/gravel that hit people in the face/eyes. It's just not worth it.
