Wedding programs

Becky, on October 1, 2019 at 11:06 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 48
Is anyone going to skip the wedding programs? If so, are you replacing it with something else? Part of me is thinking I should do them but then part of me is thinking do people really care if they get these? My wedding will be less than 30 minutes.

When I got married the first time(23 years ago), the majority of the programs were left behind. This time I’m skipping them. We will have a sign announcing times and that’s it.

We didn't do them, nor have I ever been to a wedding that had them. I think a lot of people who do them do so because they may have a more complicated ceremony that requires explanation.

I wasn’t going to do them to save a little money, but I was told I had to lol. We ended up doing a full Catholic Mass, and apparently you’re supposed to have a program, which I guess is nice so you can follow along the service. I’m a graphic designer, so I did the layout myself. Worked a little too hard on them, gave myself some serious eye strain, and got sent to the ER because the thought I’d had a retinal detachment or a stroke! Be sure to take breaks, and to take care of yourself, everyone! My mom showed the final project to my sister today, who said, “these are beautiful! Wait, is this what she broke her eyes over?” I mean, I guess it’s good that they came out well, but seriously, don’t be like me!

I only did it because my ceremony was outdoors so it was moreso for the fact people could use it for shading or as a fan

    Why spend your hard-earned 💵on the💡and📄 to 🖨 them?

They will probably just end up on the floor or in the 🗑.

DH was trying to make some after we attended a Wedding (two weeks before ours) that had them.

My plan was to make one large one, but it never got made. It was also not needed.

We skipped them too. We had a shirt ceremony and honestly they all get left behind or thrown away. Save your money.

I didnt even think about doing them. I think there an unnecessary expense, but it all depends on what you want for your wedding. Smiley smile Happy Planning! 🍀

We are skipping programs. my feeling is, everyone knows the order of the event, and they're going to end up in the trash anyway. we are doing all our events at the same venue as well so it seemed a little pointless to me.

I'm not doing a wedding program. I am doing a welcome pamphlet that a few will be put in all the cabins (it will have things like bus schedule and basic timeline of events plus recommendations for the area).

We had a shorter ceremony (20 minutes or so). We still did programs.

We skipped them. We don't have a wedding party, just our amazing best men. There won't be scheduled events like tosses other than us saying a few words and cutting the cake so it just felt unnecesarry.

We didn’t hand out programs , but I did have a board near the ceremony entrance with the names of everyone in the processional/ bridal party. I don’t think programs are necessary at all, but I did want to acknowledge our bridal party

Wedding programs never even crossed my mind. It's a pass for me. I feel like no one would read them or even if they did, it would either be left behind or trashed.

We skipped them. We had a chalkboard on an easel that just listed the names of our bridal party and we had my sisters do a reading and listed that. I think you are fine with doing nothing. I think most people just throw them away.

I went to a wedding last week with no programs, it didn't mater to me! I honestly didn't even notice until I thought back when I read your question. I don;t plan on having any, I would rather spend that money elsewhere! Smiley smile

My daughters had full catholic masses and had them so guests could follow along - especially those not familiar with the faith. Yes most got left behind, but they served their purpose during the ceremony. We had left over food too, but I'm still glad we fed people, LOL! I created the ones for my youngest daughter's ceremony using a template I found online. It was simple and I printed them at home on some fancy paper. It was pretty inexpensive. For a short traditional ceremony I wouldn't bother with it.

Skipping the programs, we will be having a sign as a "WELCOME" sign where they sign the guest book and have the 'timeline' so everyone can see it before hand!
