Wedding Program Fun

Sara, on May 31, 2019 at 12:53 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9

FH is pretty excited about having small programs to hand out at our ceremony with some fun details about us. I fully expected this to be something he's say we shouldn't worry about having, but if he's excited, I'm excited.

So here's my question: what are some cute or clever things to include?

We'll obviously list the wedding party and include a rundown of events, and I've seen a "where they met" and "how long they've been together", but does anyone have any other creative ideas they could share? Did you do something similar? Are there any fun facts that make the programs more interesting? Thanks in advance!

I've seen where people have listed the guest who travel the furthest to be at the wedding and I thought that was fun. You could also do which states you have guests from. As far as fun facts about you, maybe where your first kiss was, your favorite vacation spot, honeymoon plans.

I saw someone did a map of the US with shaded states to show where all the guests were from, could also be used as all the places you have visited together as a couple.

How long you've known each person in the wedding party.

What each of you are most excited about for the wedding.

I had seen some examples on Pinterest, so I picked pieces I liked best from them and had a designer friend put one together for us. I included menu info because we didn't do a separate menu card.

We are using this Templett program off an Etsy seller for our wedding program - I loveeeee wedding programs and knowing who is who in the wedding party and love learning more about the couple, friends and family! Plus, we often show up quite early for weddings and it gives someone something to read before it starts! https://www.etsy.com/listing/647227821/infographic-wedding-program-template-fun?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=wedding+programs&ref=sr_gallery-1-36&organic_search_click=1&pro=1

This is so neat! Did people really enjoy your programs? I totally would love this sort of info - fun to see all the little details so well-laid out! Curious about the program you used for your photos as well - did this work well to gather everyone's pictures from the wedding?

I did not do any fun facts on my wedding program as i ran out of room but i did do it for the backs of my menus at the reception. i basically put stuff like how many dresses i've tried on, and fun little tidbits that would be cute for them to know such as the fact that the groom got our initials stitched into his suit. i also put stuff like how many countries or states we've been to together thus far, how many days as of that wedding date we've been together, etc. i think it's fun to put in things about you and the groom that people may not know, so that they can get to know you a little better.

Thanks! I heard a few compliments on it that day. Funny, when we got our pro pix back, she had a bunch of the guests pre-ceremony and everyone had their heads down reading the programs...except my friend who designed it LOL.

The Guest app was pretty cool. We also put a notice about it in the hotel welcome bags. Maybe only about 10 people used it, we got about 200 pictures from it. It was free to set up, so it was worth it, plus we got to see those pictures immediately, where we waited about a month for the pictures from the photographer. I know a lot of people come on these boards asking for hashtag ideas, but I don't Instagram and I don't think anyone there would have known what to do with a hashtag, so even with the download this was simpler.

We are doing funny things with pictures of things he likes: football, fire trucks, dogs, candy and mine. We are also doing numbers like "states lived in", "days long distance", "Number of times he was right", flights together etc.
