I was having this same discussion with a friend of mine, she said to remember a wedding is nice and will be nice no matter how you plan it but, the marriage is what matters. The money you don't spend on the wedding can go toward things in the marriage.

I agree with her and do understand that is the most important--- BUT, celebrating your love and commitment is usually a dream come true. I know it is hard and I can get wrapped up into wanting everything I see LOL.

With that said, I think you can do it, make a list of the things you truly must have to make you look back and smile. Talk to the vendors tell them your love story and mention you don't have millions but want something nice. Ask how you can save, for example--- Maybe only have the DJ or music play during the reception hours and use blue tooth speakers and a music playlist during your ceremony. You can do the same with the photographer, ask if you have less posed photos and more candids starting at the ceremony (not before). Put out cameras and a sign asking the guest to capture special moments they think you would want to have and save. Catering buffet is usually cheaper and if you are having alcohol see if it's cheaper to do beer kegs and only one signature drink, name the drink something that goes with your theme or you and your finance. Example, my fiance's last name is Waddle- our signature drink will be called "The Gonna Make You Waddle" he loves sweet tea more than he loves anything so our signature drink will be Sweet Tea, Lemonade and Vodka :-)

Hope this helps, they are just some ideas I thought...

Absolutely ! This depends on the reception venue and food. So in other words, if you can find a cheaper venue and catering it should work out
