Wedding postpones

Has anyone getting married in October, November or December postponed their wedding yet ? We want our wedding in October like planned but we are thinking we may have to postpone it. We just don’t want to jump the gun if we don’t have to yet.

10/10, 150 guests (most out of state), most things planned, we are not postponing yet. Planning to make a decision in July. SC is reopening retail stores today so I think we will have an idea of the chances of this going forward in the next month or so. I think this really depends on the couple, honestly. If I were getting married in NYC or if I had huge vendor payments coming up (we don't owe anything until Sept), I might postpone.

One of my friends that was planning a halloween wedding this year just postponed hers to 2021. Something to think about is that even if things are opened back up and more normalized, people may still be hesitant to travel, be in large groups, dance close together, etc. It will be great either way. Good luck with everything!

My wedding is on a cruise December 11th. We are waiting until September to see if everything clears up. If CDC allows us to cruise then I’m not cancelling

We’re planning to get married October 3rd and are remaining optimistic as our venue already reached out to us and said they would be flexible. We are having a very intimate wedding anyway (around 30 guests). I’m hoping it will be fine until then.

We’re getting married in NJ on November 14th, 2020. I did contact my venue and all of our vendors to discuss a plan b just in case. Obviously we’d like to keep our date but we just don’t know how things will be even after the reopen the state and we don’t want anything taken away from the special day. We also have immunocompromised family members so we have to strongly consider them. We will decide by July and push it to November 2021 if we have to.

We are 9/4/20 and not postponing. We only have a few people flying in for ours so since mostly everyone is within two hours of the venue we aren’t planning to postpone. I think everything will be opened back up by then. Probably not totally normal but at least functional!

I was going to get married in November and we decided to post pone. The wedding is going to be in Costa Rica where the quarantine rules are very strict and since I heard there could be a second wave of the virus, I decided not to take chances and reschedule for next March. Right now, there are no flights into or out of Costa Rica and I figured it is better to change it before we send out save-the-dates.

Hello 💜 My May 30th wedding for this year has been postponed until October 31 2020. I am not going to postpone again. Postponing once was hard enough (although I know it was for the safety and well-being of the guests- plus being in NJ in May probably can’t due to legal restrictions) . Come October 2020- im still planning on having my wedding. It may have to be a smaller number of people than I would like due to restrictions, but for me personally, I cannot wait another year. I would rather marry the love of my life (have a small intimate ceremony) and begin to start our life together as husband and wife/ start a family then wait a whole another year. I am concerned that in 2021, there may also be another out break of some kind. This has been so hard on each and every one of us brides to be and I pray for peace, health, and safety for you all. Hopefully better times are heading our way!

Our date is 10/24. We haven't sent out invites just yet nor have we postponed. We are going to wait until August to make a final decision. All of our vendors have been really understanding and flexible. They're hoping that it will happen just as much as us.

I gotta say that this article gave some really good ideas if we do have to postpone.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that our 11/21 wedding will still happen the way we want it. Of course we have a plan B of something very small with the big party later on but I would be really upset if that is what has to happen.

December 7th! No plans to postpone, or cancel for that matter. Plan B is a virtual wedding. We've double-checked with every single one of our vendors about the cancellation policy due to COVID and even got it included in the contracts. That's the best thing you can do for now and just enjoy planning your wedding! Stressing will only take away from the experience Smiley smile

We're holding out hope for 10/10 - but know it may not be an option. We'll make a final decision at the end of June before our final venue payment is due. If not, we'll elope and throw a party next year 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our date is 10/11/2020 and right now we're still planning on having it. Fingers crossed. We do have a Plan B, which we'll make the final decision on in late August. Luckily we have minimal money down (our deposits were very affordable and we have in our contract that we can reschedule with no penalties, etc.). I'm hoping things will be okay by fall, but who knows. Our Plan B is a small gathering with immediate family OR city hall. At some point we'll celebrate!

Same boat, wedding is in September. I’m waiting to see what happens. Can’t keep the country closed forever, so I’m hopeful.

Our wedding is 10/10/2020 and we are planning as normal. We have considered back up plans, but since many spring and summer brides are rescheduling for later this year, we remain hopeful. Basically unless our venue requires us to postpone, we probably won't. Even if it means a smaller guest list.
