My wedding was supposed to be April 6th, I had the church, hall, photographer, florist, cake, dj etc. all booked and ready to go for April 6th. But this date was "tentative" pending my fiance getting leave approved from the Navy. He's waiting on medical paperwork to go through before he can even PUT IN for leave, so needless to say as of March 7th I think it's safe to say the wedding has to be post-poned. Smiley sad On the bright side though, I was able to book a vacation in mid-April to go see him. I'm considering doing a courthouse wedding for now (So we can live together ASAP) and having the big wedding as soon as he's able to come home. I bought a dress at Macy's for a courthouse wedding, thoughts? (I'm not lugging my big poofy dress on a plane, lol and I want to save it for the big moment at the church with family present) Thoughts on my courthouse dress? Also, he's in florida maybe I can get that beach wedding I've always wanted Smiley winking

Was a military brat and military wife (navy), you don't need a physical to go on leave. Marriage is considered as a life changing event even in the military, he can check with FFSC and navy personnel, they had to fly my ex husband to the nearest naval air station while on deployment so he can fly home for us to get married. That sucks tho, there are plenty if resources he can avail on the base to help him, good luck to both of you.

Sarasota is on the west coast of Florida, south of Tampa, north of Naples, about 2 hours southwest of Orlando.

Siesta Key beach in Sarasota was named #1 beach in the country in 2011. The sand is as white and fine as sugar. We get beautiful sunsets here!

Its not that he needs a physical to take leave. He is having medical issues and he has to wait for this paperwork to go through before he will even be able to put in for his leave. Something about having to be on or near base when it goes through so he can sign.

Just saw this and wanted to say a hello and send a hug! I COMPLETELY understand. Currently we are in "military limbo", unsure if his orders will moved up or not (requiring us to cancel september wedding, and make do with whatever we can manage sooner).

You sound like a planner, too, and hey - we've got lots of them. If the first one doesn't pan out...well, here come B,C,D,E,....you get the picture.

I am always inspired by military couples, and despite the difficulties, I know our men and women are doing good, and I love being able to support their work.

I think we know that when we marry our man, we're marrying the military too. Smiley smile

Yes that is a very good point! And yes it sucks when things don't go according to plan but I knew this was a good possibility, and you're right that's where back up plans come in handy! Smiley smile I hope your FH's orders work out and you're able to have the wedding you've been planning but so long as the day ends with us married to our Mr. Rights Smiley smile The support on WW is amazing! Thanks for the hugs! Best of luck to you and I will be sure to keep you all updated!!
