Wedding Porn Buffet

Mrs. Carmen, on March 30, 2010 at 7:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

I'm feeling a little uninspired today. I need to come up with a really cool and creative monogram. I also need to figure out an idea for the aisle decor. I don't want to use flower arrangements or an aisle runner. I've been looking around on the forum to try and get some ideas, but it seems less and less people are actually discussing wedding stuff every day. So if anyone has some unique ideas and photos, would you be so kind as to share?

Here's a photo of the aisle. It's outdoors.

Ohh! Yeah that's pretty. And you're right, I have lanterns for my centerpieces.

Analy's idea looks gorgeous it would match so perfectly with those lanterns you brought. Never realised before how much aisle decor is just flowers lol

    Haha. Thanks.

Actually, the lanterns would be so great. FH and I were talking just last night to changing the time to dusk/sunset. But I was worried about it being too dark to get good photos. Hmm...

This is also cool. they are hanging from curtain rods, on clear line:

That site has lanterns that you can hang yourself above the aisle like on a line that would give a lot of light

Stephen was opting for the not-so-easy way out and getting chair sashes in sage and victorian lilac and doing that. To me, that's boring. What's the average price of a chair sash? If I can convince him the lanterns would be cheaper, he'd probably go for it. I'm finding lanterns for $2.69 a piece atm, and I'd need 16. Plus whatever the cost of the ribbon would be.

Chair sashes are usually $1-$3, plus setup/ delivery fee. But I agree, boring, especially for you Smiley smile. Also, if it IS dusk, those colors may not show up too well...

Well the lanterns you could resell and make most of the money back on plus its a lot more personal and intimate. The ribbon you could get very cheap.

Yeah that was another concern I had. That and I don't want my wedding photos to be in the dark. We're getting married in a garden. I want to be able to see the flowers.

Dusk= the golden hour, in photography terms. It is best to shoot in low light/ shade. You are good there. Smiley smile But, your guests need to be able to see you!

How crazy do you think it'd be to hand the lanterns I have along the aisle and then hang them back on the centerpieces once the ceremony is done? cause I already have 20 lanterns that would work. I'd just need to get ribbon wide enough.

    Edit: hang, not hand.

Here's a photo of the lanterns I have:

I think dusk is beautiful the photos at our venue outside were all at dusk and it was so gorgeous. Oh I was thinking your monogram why not do something combining branches in it as well that would suit your cake stand
