Wedding Planning Email?

Gabriela, on July 18, 2014 at 8:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I just got engaged on July 2 (yay!) and am slowly starting to get things together to begin planning my day. My wedding will be in Bogota, Colombia so I will be sending out A TON of emails and don't want to get a ton of spam from vendors, etc. Has anyone created a wedding planning only email?

We did. It has been a Godsend. There is no way I could handle all these wedding emails in my personal or school accounts.

Yes! It was fantastic to stay organized and label every e-mail into folders and tags. Smiley smile

I didn't, but I never received any spam from my vendors. I did create folders for each vendor so I do recommend that. It keeps everything organized. Is this a destination wedding? If so, I agree with Anisea. Does your venue have a wedding/event coordinator? If so I'd be in contact with them the most and rely on them to help field potential vendors.

Thank you for all your comments! I'm brand new to wedding wire and I'm loving the support! Luckily, my entire mom's side of the family is there. I'm flying out at the end of August to finalize a venue, date, dress, invitation designs....I'm overwhelmed thinking about it!! I think I will make a wedding planning email...what did you use? A generic email or you and your fiance's names?

Do it! I get so much spam in my wedding email I can't even imagine if it was clogging up my "real" mail.

Es! I have one account for all vendor contact and one account for dining up for bridal expo contests, i.e. tons of spam. I'love probably change my phone number too - got spam calls for china or something

Yep I made a wedding only email. It helps with everything that I send out to get quotes it won't get lost in the rest of my emails.

I made a wedding specific account too. Only thing is, I made it with my first name and FH's last name so once I started booking vendors and gave them our real names, I was a little embarrassed... hahaha.

We didn't. We don't really get spam, plus if we do it gets marked as a promotion email so we dont see it in our primary inbox.

I did. I don't get much spam though. I may actually switch over to the wedding email as my regular email after the wedding because the one I've used for the past 5+ years uses part of my last name.

After months of researching vendors and venues, the spam in my personal email was insane!! I did a wedding account literally (FH last name)Wedding@... And I can't even explain how awesome it has been. After the wedding, delete it and no more spam! Smiley smile

Yes! it is the best thing you could do. When I went to my first bridal show a lot of brides on here suggested to get a separate E-mail and I am so glad I did, works like a charm!!

I didn't create a wedding email only because I will be using a new email after the wedding. I don't really get much spam though. If I do, it is easy to unsubscribe from them.

That advice I saw on Pinterest (can I mention that here?) on a "must do" list and so far it's the best advice I've gotten. Going to a bridal expo and signing up for WW have already created lots of e-mails and it's been really nice not having to go thru my regular inbox and sort.

Oh, that seems like a good idea...I may do that...I'm getting a lot of spam and have started unsubscribing too just to keep my main inbox clean. I hate clutter.
