My photographer has (facial) piercings and while I really don't mind. Some of them are gaudy so I asked her if for the wedding she could put on something more simple since guests will be taking pictures too. No Problem, she said she would have any way even if I hadn't asked and told me about the one...

Some of them are gaudy so I asked her if for the wedding she could put on something more simple since guests will be taking pictures too. No Problem, she said she would have any way even if I hadn't asked and told me about the one wedding where a BM refused to take her piercing out and it put the bride in tears. That got me wondering. How many of you have someone who is pierced in the wedding or so on? Are you asking them to take them out put something else in? Do you think someone should even ask a pierced person to remove their piercings?

My MOH has her nose pierced but its a really tiny stud so it doesnt mother me. As for tattoos, they don't both any one of us. My MOH has one on the inside of her lip so that isn't visible but I have one between my shoulder blades and on my leg which won't be visible til I put on my reception dress. But FS has 9 I think. His arms are covered, he has one on the side of his leg of Eddie from Iron Maiden & he has one on his back of Eddie .. so tattoos don't bother me!! I am actually going to ask my FBIL if he will be willing to finish the tattoo on my back before then so that its completely healed and looking hot! I am getting a replica of Love Kills Slowly. Here is a pic of my tattoo, this was taken at an angle apparently. LOL. But its just a crossbone with a bow & I want flowers around it and the ribbon that will say Love Kills Slowly.

I won't ask any of my BM's to take theirs out, but from what I know, they aren't huge or anything super distracting. If one had a HUGE bull ring, then I might have her put a retainer in or something, but I doubt any of them have something that huge. Normal piercings don't both me.

FS has plugs, they're only a 0g, but I bought him Batman one's to match his other batman stuff that he'll wear during the wedding =0)

I took mine out only because I want to wear some cute dangly earrings, and not all of them could fit through my plug.

I would ask that the piercings have a not attention seeking piece of jewlery. I am covering a tatoo I have. my nickname during my military days was shedevil and I have one tatooed on my left arm. She stands from a inch off my shoulder to halfway down my arm. I having my ceremony in a chapel and I feel its not apporiate for her to show. so she's getting covered up and I am asking my photographer to get as few photos from an angle that it would show up even with the makeup over it. i have issues with my earlobes closing since I don't wear earings reguarly and I would not want to take out some piercings that close faster just for my wedding or anyone elses.

Lol Alison you don't pay for the bm dress, you don't usually pay for the jewelry they wear to the wedding so why would you pay for the jewelry they are pierced with? I was just wondering that lol..... I have quit a few tats and have had my share of piercings though I don't any more... I know quit a few ppl who have put their BMs in dresses the BMs would never wear or had them wear jewerly that a BM wouldn't normally wear. Your not asking your friends to die their hair, I'm just of the openion that there is nothing wrong with a Bride asking that she be the one dazzling.....

I have my nose and tongue pierced, my girls have some too, I wont ask them to remove them. I asked them to be in my wedding, and if I didn't want that look I should not ask them to be part of it. I want them to feel comfortable too since eyes will also be on them at some point
