Wedding photography

I am with you on the filter thing. I think it's become way too common and a lot of photographers use it as a crutch. They also use it to their advantage (such as making sure all their photos "flow" on instagram, etc.) at the detriment to customers. That being said, when looking at photographers it is important to check out their portfolios and social media accounts and to choose one that has the same style you're looking for. For what it's worth, I think the professional photo is beautiful and the filter gives it a lovely soft effect. But, since it's not the aesthetic you're looking for, you could always request the raw images of some of your favorite photos. Not all photographers are willing to give raw images, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Yeah, there is definitely a huge difference in colors here. If having the raw images is important, I would just purchase them from her. I know it's a large sum of money, but if having accurate photos is important (which is totally valid!) and you think you will regret not having them 5, 10, 15 years down the road, then it's totally worth the cost. I would ensure (in writing) that means you get ALL raw images (including the missing photos she didn't include with her edits).

I am so sorry you are going through this. All of the photos are gorgeous, but I too like the vibrant beautiful colors you had at your wedding. I just can’t understand why your photographer would be acting like this. Why would she insist on giving you a product you don’t like? That makes no sense. I would consider having a lawyer look at the contract and see what options you have legally. Your day looked magical and your pictures should capture this!

Please keep in mind that "raw photos" usually means .RAW files not jpgs that haven't been altered. You need special software to read them. I'd clarify this before paying anymore money.
