Is it bad to have more bridesmaids than groomsmen? How should the ceremony look if that happens?

It's not bad. Some ppl can walk alone or be escorted by someone if you don't like the way it looks alone.
If you'll have a rehearsal that's when you can see

It’s fine! You could have 2 bridesmaids walk down the aisle with each groomsman. Or just have each bridal party member walk down the aisle alone.

Also, many people are concerned about symmetry in photos... first of all, that really doesn’t/shouldn’t matter anyway lol, but if it does to you... we had the same number of bridesmaids and groomsmen and I actually think our photos with the whole bridal party look a little asymmetrical. Because the groomsmen are much larger than the bridesmaids, they take up way more space in the photo than the bridesmaids do. For “symmetry” purposes I actually think the photo would’ve looked MORE balanced if I had had another bridesmaid or two lol.

But again I didn’t care about symmetry either lol, we just both happened to want 4 people 🤷🏻‍♀️Wedding party 1

Uneven wedding parties are very common. I have 3 BM and FH has 2 GM. FH is walking his mom down the aisle, GM is walking my mom down the aisle, then best man walking alone followed by each bridesmaid individually.

It's not bad at all. We're having 5 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen. I think the ceremony will look fine. Our bridesmaids are walking down by themselves b/c the groomsmen will come out with my FH and our officiant. On the way back up, the last groomsmen will walk up with 2 bridesmaids; he'll be in the middle.

One of my bridesmaid's ended up having one less groomsman (brother of the groom) in her wedding because he woke up sick the morning of the wedding. Their step-dad was sick the night before and we think the groomsman caught it. It was only like a 24 hour thing. No one thought it was odd that there was one less groomsman. They had two bridesmaids walk with one groomsman so that no one had to walk alone. I believe they practiced with him and the two bridesmaids the morning of after the other groomsman said he wouldn't be able to make it.

I attended a wedding where there were more groomsmen than bridesmaids. 2 of the groomsmen walked down the aisle together for both the processional and recessional. They were also introduced together during the reception and danced in together. Everyone loved it and thought it was really cool/funny!
