I'm working on our wedding website and on the page where you introduce the wedding party. It has a customer role option but I'm struggling to think of a title for this.

A friend of mine has offered to pay for our cake. She's a friend and a coworker. We aren't close like doing stuff together very often and we don't talk that much but we both know that each of us would do anything for the other. What would I put her title as? She's helped a lot in other areas of planning too and I really want to give her some dedication and add her to the site.

I understand your question and Its pretty direct. Maybe you could put ‘friend-of-honor’ or ‘guest of honor’.

I know it’s not a very common role, but as uncommon as it is I’ve actually seen this done in two weddings. One of which was my cousins wedding. Her and her now husband were both sorority and fraternity members. They only had their siblings in their wedding party otherwise it would’ve been a small army of about 20 people on each side which was not what they wanted to do. My cousin put ‘sisters of honor’, and he put ‘brothers of honor’. My other cousin (her sister) then took the idea when she got married. They too did only their siblings in the bridal party only because there’s a lot of them. She did however acknowledge her best friends who helped her throughout the process and she put ‘friends of honor.’ It didn’t look weird at all. Everyone understood that they were not in the bridal party and that they were simply honorable mentions type of deal. It’s your wedding and if someone has health supported you that much then they definitely deserve some sort of mention if you feel it’s due. Definitely don’t put “designated cake buyer“.... Although I don’t think that was an actual suggestion I think it was just more of a mild stab. But Good luck and congrats.

This!!!!! Finally someone who gets it! It would be beyond rude if me to specify she bought cake lol so to think ppl actually thought that was something I was considering putting is mind boggling. Thank you for your input! I've decided to go with "special thanks to" instead of a title. And thankfully no longer have need for this post lol

If you want to give her public credit for buying your cake, maybe put a "courtesy of [name]" sign on the cake table. More people would see that than will read the wedding party page of your wedding website.

I guess I worded my question wrong because everyone assumes I want to give her credit for buying the cake. Not the case at all. I simply want to give her a thank you shout out on my website for ALL of her help she's provided in the planning process, not specifically the cake and wasn't sure how to title her.

I would do something comical because that's who I am. Such as the Cake God Mother or something.

Smiley laugh LOL that's hilarious. I don't want to really specify she bought the cake though. But that's a good one!
