Wedding Party - Nieces and Nephews

Marissa, on October 9, 2019 at 9:30 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 1

Help! I am a nurse and my fiance is a police officer. We want to incorporate our careers into the wedding for the ring bearers and flower girls. We have 2 nieces (will be 17 months and 16 months old on our wedding day) and 3 nephews (7,5,5). I was thinking of calling the ring bearers "ring police" but I'm debating on if 3 of them is too many. Is there anything else I can do with them?

Can't think of what to call the flower girls to incorporate me being a nurse......

Also will the girls too little to walk down the isle (beach ceremony) or should we put them in a wagon? Should I have one of the boys pull them or a groomsman?

Open to all suggestions.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Marissa!

Ring police is so cute! For the flower girls, I’ve thought of some terrible ideas, but they may inspire another idea for you so I’m sharing!! What about ‘Love spreader’, ‘Injectors of Love’ or ‘Injections of Love’?!

If you’re worried about having too many ring bearers, perhaps your oldest nephew could be an usher? He would still be a part of the wedding helping guests to their seats and directing them. You could call him ‘crowd security’ or something else fun related to the police!

When it comes to your flower girls walking down the aisle, I feel like you may need to make the decision closer to the time. If they are confident little things and would have no problems with stage fright, they could walk (that’s if they are walking of course!). If they’re a little shy, and you’re afraid they may get overwhelmed, a wagon may be best! The ring bearers or groomsmen could pull this wagon. It’s completely your personal preference!
