Wedding Officiant

Alrighty y’all it happened just like I feared. 8 days from my wedding and I can’t get in contact with our officiant. It took us forever to find someone who could marry us, due to not being apart of a church and not really being religious. Met with him earlier this year, he was super nice and reassuring. Emailed him over the summer to check and he responded promptly. Emailed a month before the wedding a got no response. I started calling last week, leaving voicemails and he isn’t responding. We found someone else that we will hopefully meet with tomorrow. They sound pretty awesome BUT they are not available for rehearsal. None of us really know what we are doing and I really wanted the officiant there to guide us through the rehearsal. Did you have your officiant present for the rehearsal? If not how did it go? Any tips?

I'm not having a rehearsal at all and my fish and said that the day off she'll come up to both myself and the groom and tell us what to do but I've been in communication about walking in at the songs that we would like and she has experience with elopement or small ceremony so she even have ideas of what we can do and she'll kind of guide us. Honestly I've been to a few rehearsals I'm not saying it's not a good thing but I don't really feel like it's totally necessary like basically you match up who your bridal party going to walk to the groomsmen and which order and all that stuff.

We didn't really have a rehearsal before our miniwedding. We walked through the space with our officiant the day before, but the more important part of what we would've done at a rehearsal happened on Zoom a couple of weeks earlier. I would recommend talking through the whole ceremony with the officiant (probably over the phone/Zoom one day next week, I wouldn't recommend doing this during your first meeting). Ask if there's anything specific about where he wants you/your bridal party to stand. When you go to your venue for the rehearsal, if there's a coordinator, you can ask them for guidance. If not, just figure out where the aisle is and where everyone who's walking down the aisle will be waiting before they walk down it. The officiant will arrive before the ceremony starts, so if you have any last minute questions, you can ask him then. Good luck tomorrow!

Ours could not make the rehearsal either; but we zoomed with him a week before the big day and that worked out just fine!

My officiant didn't come to the rehearsal but we had spoken before and went over the vows we chose and I read reviews!
